I am having the same problem and posted shortly before you did about this issue. No one at Firefox or on this community board is responding, I am guessing that Firefox support has an issue with Sync and is covering it up until they can figure out how to fix it or just don't have time to fix this issue.
Guess we will have to wait until someone with knowledge of the issue responds.........
