Hello, I have checked the box "Always ask you where to save files". It works well most of the time, however, I have faced a case in which it does not. Opening a link to a pdf file directly from google search results, somehow bypasses this option, and starts downloading the pdf automatically, and opens it after download finished. I believe you are aware how dangerous it is to open pdf files directly. If there is a solution to this, I will be glad to hear from you, as it is very important issue. Thank you beforehand.
