We have been using IE. With Firefox, do I need to change my email address?

We currently use Internet Explorer. We are having a lot of problems since Yahoo/att messed everything up during the last several days. Yahoo supposedly no longer supports IE. So---I am thinking of downloading Firefox. My first question is, will I have to change my email address if I use Firefox?

Hi Sphinx2, you do not need to change your email address when you use another browser such as Firefox. Although you have the option to create a Firefox account to use certain optional services[1], you set up your Firefox account with your existing email address; Mozilla doesn't offer new email accounts.

This is the official Firefox download site: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/

When you first install Firefox, it can import data from Internet Explorer, such as your favorites (called bookmarks in Firefox) and saved passwords. You might have to set up your home page in Firefox if you are used to IE going straight to your mail site. There are a couple help articles on that.[2]

After installing Firefox, please do not try to remove Internet Explorer from your system. It is an integral part of Windows, and there are some sites that use proprietary coding that won't work in Firefox (fortunately, there are fewer and fewer of these).

Finally, if you use sites that rely on Flash (many game sites require Flash), you may need to install the version that works in Firefox if you don't already have it on your system. Adobe's download page is here: https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/. (If you go there using IE, you'll need to click the link in the left column to get Flash for Firefox instead of IE.)

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

By the way, Yahoo has a toolbar for Firefox, but it recently lost a lot of its features, so I wouldn't recommend you rush to install it unless you really love Yahoo.
