The "clear recent history" function has deleted ALL of my History AGAIN (I selected to clear only _ONE HOUR_)

What a shoddy piece of junk Firefox is. And I suppose there's no way of retrieving it? Who designed this sordid torture ware? This is the SECOND time i've tried using the Clear History function with the SAME RESULT. Why are you doing this to me!? I selected under "Time Range to Clear": _LAST HOUR_. There was no mistake -AGAIN!
