Changing to a different tabs fails

With multiple tabs open....clicking on a different tab results in a few elements of the selected tab to display with the previous tab still displayed and both tabs having the focus on the tab bar. Clicking on the 'previously' viewed tab does nothing. Clicking on a third tab 'unlocks' the other two tabs.
