I found some archived threads for this particular problem and tried everything that was recommended but nothing worked. I have made sure several times that all add-ons are disabled, tried in Safe mode, etc. and I keep getting these popups everywhere on even my email sites. One thread had mentioned doing something in your control panel but then did not go further. Should I be looking for something in my control panel? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.

Still not working. I believe the problem to be "Offerswizard" but can't find it to uninstall it.

Also, most of those sites recommended did not provide free antimalware

C'mon. You posted a mere 20 minutes after cor-el provided support. And 20 minutes is less than the scan time of just one of those programs. Yah ain't gonna get your problem fixed if you don't put more effort into doing what was recommended. It ain't a "spectator sport" although you can sit and eat popcorn while the various scans are being performed.

MalwareBytes - Free is available on this page http://www.malwarebytes.org/downloads/

I definitely appreciate the help - plz do not think I was being snotty. the free scans did it very quickly, but then to fix the problems you had to pay. I actually found the solution on YouTube - it was simply uninstall "Network System Driver". No wonder I couldn't find anything related under a search! Very sneaky. Hopefully this helps anyone else who has a similar issue. Thank-you to both Cor-el and The-edmeister for their replies though. Always nice that people are willing to help out! Cheers :)

It sounds like that infection protected itself by not letting you access the real cleanup tools. That's clever, but very disturbing. Glad you found your way to the Add-ons page to clear it out.

Wasn't in the Add-ons, was actually in the programs - all add-ons had already been disabled - part of why it was so frustrating!

Try this way (based on preconfigured userContent.css): http://www.gozer.org/mozilla/ad_blocking/

And Ghostery Add-on.
