Sometimes when I open a new tab and go to search something it will just close and bring me back to the previous tab after I press enter. This also happens when I open a link in a new tab so its not a problem with my enter button closing it. If I choose top open a link in a new tab sometimes it will close without me even clicking on the tab.

I have 945 tabs that show up in what I'll call the "Bookmark Took Bar" just below the home page tool bar. Most are duplicates. I want to clear these and only have a few important tabs (bookmarks?) in the bookmark tool bar. Can you help me.
Are books marks the same as tabs. How can I prevent this from happening again?

When I click on a link, Firefox opens the link in a new window, even though I have "Open links in tabs instead of new windows" checked in Options. I want links to open in a new tab in the same window. I'm updated to the most current version of Firefox, too. How can I fix it?
Thanks, Leah

As a webgroup site manager I usually have a single window open dedicated to multiple pages within the site. I can have as many as a half-dozen tabs ALL with the same name - (then the page-in-use). But all I can see/read is the first part. Is there a way to 'customize' the contents/name/words showing on a tab? Or a way to change the color of the tabs to help differentiate which one is which? I'd like to be able to change "main@beta.groups.io | Messages" to just "Messages" because "main@beta.groups.io | Pending Messages" looks exactly the same until out-of-sight in the tab. Or, I'd be happy enough to make "Messages" green and "Pending Messages" to orange.

firefox tab name edit: can a user name tab at will ?
right now it has LOGO and "Home" but i want it to read something like OSC-US Office of Special Counsel-Independent Agency-Home because i just do.
i have three other bookmarks for OSC: i can edit the bookmark name from "properties" but have never known whether i can also edit the name shown on a tab.
LOGO Home isn't too helpful to me. but even just knowing that i CAN'T edit tab names will be helpful to know, so i can stop thinking about it and get some sleep after another bag of chocolate-chip cookies. being an american right now is plenty stressful.
who named them "cookies" anyhow?-is it bc they kind of leave crumbs? did i win?
thank you for helping. i do appreciate it.

I got an error on one of my open or pinned tabs (do not recall which it was). I do not recall what the error was and did not screenshot it because I was sure that closing Firefox and restarting it would fix the issue. I did just that, closed Firefox and reopened it to find that ALL of my pinned and open tabs were GONE. This also happens if another instance of Firefox is opened and I close my main one first by accident and then close the other Firefox instance - ALL TABS LOST.
This is what I have done: • I started to restore the pinned tabs as I could remember what they were but I was not able to remember the open tabs that were not pinned • I searched for lost tabs on the web and on the Mozilla support site but was not able to find any useful help - most of it seems outdated or no long compatible with my version of Firefox. • I looked for the sessionrestore files on my local PC but could not find them - this must have changed in some version of Firefox between version 42 and version 82 that I have. • I looked in the AddOn store to find something that would help restore and prevent this issue - but found nothing. A very old post, from 2012, indicated one that did this but it is no longer available. • All of the Options in Firefox to restore previous session, reopen previous tabs and all that were blank.
This is VERY frustrating in that it results in lots of down time to recreate what was open and is equivalent to working on a document for days or weeks only to find out that the Microsoft file got corrupt or did not save properly.
I am using Firefox version 82.0.2 (64-bit).
Two questions: 1/ Is there any way I can get the pinned and open tabs back from the previous session? 2/ What can I do to avoid this issue EVER happening again.
Thanks!!!!

Hi. I've been using Firefox for Mac for ages and when clicking on a link, it would open the page in a new tab.
However, since the last update (84.0.2 (64-bit)) when I click on a link it opens it in the same tab.
I've checked options in "preferences" and can't find any option other than "open links in tabs instead of new windows".
I have also gone into "about:config" and checked the "browser.link.open_newwindow" which is correctly marked 3 (tabs).
I've disabled all add-ons but this did not solve the problem. :(
I'd appreciate any help ;) Thanks

Hi all, I am experiencing a very annoying behaviour on firefox: from one day to another I cannot anymore scroll the tab strip with my trackpad, and this is driving me crazy.
Tried to restart firefox in safe mode => the problem still persists Tried to quit from better touch tool with addons disabled => problem still persists Factory reset of firefox with better touch tool disabled => problem still persists
Almost everything disabled in system settings in the trackpad gestures sections (screenshot attached)
You can find here a screen recording of the problem: in this video I open many new tabs and try to horizontally scroll them, you can't see the movement I do on the trackpad, but it is performed like when you scroll down a webpage: I expect (and it was like this since few time ago) the tab strip to scroll horizontally like a web page scrolls when you scroll down with trackpad, really no idea why it stopped working
Firefox is my absolute favurite browser, but this issue is really diving me crazy

Hello guys, I have trouble for a few days, when I open a new Tab, Firefox automatically switched to it, whereas this behavior is disabled in the settings, for a long time... As you can see on the screenshot. I try to reactivate it, and nothing happened, so I disabled it, but no result either.
Do you guys notice the same trouble ?

Hello. I am using Firefox Nightly. When I browse a page(any page) for a while, the icon in the tab bar will start flashing, and the "Reload" button in the upper left corner will also start flashing. At this point I cannot do anything with the current page. So I was wondering how to solve this problem. Thank you. (I am not a native English speaker, then I may made some mistakes, sorry about that :-(

Hello With Version 84.0.2 I can no longer open a URL in a new tab. Preferences are OK and have not been changed. I work with Firefox Ubuntu and Qwant, PureVPN and Kee PassWord Manager extensions.
I also have a problem because when I choose to never keep the history when closing Firefox, then the home page https://www.qwant.com/?client=ext-firefox-hp is replaced by that of Firefox
Thanks for your help

I have open half a dozen or so tabs related to one subject. I would like to put them all into one "super tab", such that only the super tab shows as an open tab. Then, by clicking on that tab, it would show the tabs within it, any one or more of which could be selected. Is this possible, and if so how is it done? Perhaps there's an add-on or extension that would do this.
I have already created a multi-tab bookmark that sorta, maybe accomplishes the same thing. But it's not as convenient as what I envision as described above.
Thanks for any advice or words of wisdom.
