I would like to use HTTPS to access my router's web interface without having to bypass the "Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead" page.

Following my router's instructions I exported the certificate. I then accessed the Privacy & Security settings in Preferences, and under View Certificates I imported the router's certificate.

When opening the HTTPS web interface Firefox reports SEC_ERROR_INADEQUATE_KEY_USAGE.

Visiting this page: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/examples/map-geolocation or any other website using geolocation to track my location, shows a blank map and no prompt "Share location: Allow, Block, Not now".

This happened since upgrading to FF 24 (Desktop Win7 64). Downgrading to FF 23.0.1, solves the problem: FF prior to 24 supports geolocation with no problem. Tried in both my desktop and laptop with separate FF installations, using different plugins.

Thank you in advance.

[ NOTE: Now using Firefox 23.0.1, the problem only occurs after upgrading to Firefox 24 ]

I've tried uninstalling, downgrading, upgrading Firefox (from version 17 to Aurora) and still the problem persists! I've shut down firewall, performed malware checks, cleared cache, history and cookies, started in safemode, and still nothing!! 'https' sites (such as Facebook) load perfectly well, as opposed to 'http' sites that do NOT load at all, getting the following error:

«Firefox could not establish connection to server in www.example.com. - The website may be temporarily unavailable or busy. Try again in a few moments. - If you can't load any page please check your computer Internet connection. - If your computer or Internet connection is protected by firewall or proxy, verify if «browser» has permission to connect to the Web.»

I have the same version of firefox running on win7 on other computer and it works normally!

Some 'http' sites will load if I insert an 's' after 'http' making them apparently 'https'.

Help please!! Thank you!!

When i try to open new tab in Mozilla i got an avast alarm saying that Mozilla is trying to acess URL:MAL with this IP https://54.200.231.121 . The problem that this is a clean install of OS (got this problem before and than reinstalled win7). And no strange addons included. I disabled mozilla updates and any kind of reports (may be it's them, but still no luck) This problem occurs RANDOMLY, so not the all time i open a new tab this avast error opens. I'll contact avast support too, but there are no problems with Chrome.

Hello,

Updated to firefox 36.0 on 2-24-15 Now getting a Windows Security Alert Windows firewall has blocked some features of this program. Name: Firefox Publisher: Mozilla Corporation Path: C:\program files (x86)\mozilla firefox\firefox.exe Private networks box is checked and grayed out. Public networks box is unchecked and is asking to allow access.

When I look at allowed programs through firewall it shows 2 Firefox programs. Firefox --------(box is unchecked ) Firefox C:\program files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox) ----------(box checked off)

Also on 2-24-15 There were Windows 7 updates and a MSE Definition update.

When I booted up computer 2-25-15 the Windows Security Alert appeared.

I have not allowed access from Windows Security Alert window.

Why did this Windows Security Alert appear?

I don't know why - possibly after a firefox update to 49.0.2? But Firefox on Windows 10 is no longer saving or using my saved passwords. When I try to display saved logins, there are none showing. However, I do have intact key3.db and logins.json files, and I can see in logins.json that there are lots of logins stored in there. So I'm sure the data are there, but just not being read.

Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't help. Refresh didn't help. Synch seems to connect, but doesn't help. Isn't there some command to force the browser to read the saved logins file?

Only happens with Yahoo mail. I'll be working in another tab, and then notice that the yahoo mail tab has gone to a spam site.

I visited several sites yesterday doing research, and nothing looked suspicious. Since then the spontaneous action has been occurring. I don't have any plugins for Firefox (and still don't). I ran a virus scanner, and nothing was found. I don't allow downloads without my permission.

Thanks for your help.

Since installation of Firefox 58 at Windows 10 I cant access to all SSL / Https pages, also not to Google.com !! Solution is already described by manual updating / deleting and import the Kaspersky certificate (better to edit and simply flag the 3 check boxes of trust setting" for AO Kaspersky Lab).

But: when edit or import the certitificate, always my Master Password for Firefox Password manager is requested. And at next Firefox start the certificate trust setting flag again is blank and previous settings are lost. If no Master Password is set, there is NO Problem. Previous Firefox version had not such problem and works well ! Thanks for your help! All other browser on my PC work well without SSl certificate error!

Windows 10 Pro, Version 1903, OS Build 18362.418 FF 70.0 (64 bit)

Let me preface this with saying I worked in IT for a long time. I'm stumped on this one.

FF worked fine on 10/22/19. Tried opening FF on 10/23/19 and it kept crashing. I started the task of finding out why.

Opened in Safe Mode and saw the latest FF update. Also discovered a new addon that I did not install: Adaware Secure Search. It wasn't there the last time I reviewed addons (which I do frequently, trying to find the best addon's for my usage) and I hadn't installed anything new recently. Disabled Adaware and FF started opening properly.

I don't want Adaware Secure Search however there is no Remove option in the dropdown. So, I started hunting online to try and remove it.

It is not in the Control Panel. It is not in the registry - I searched in every folder. Ran MalwareBytes and other tools - they don't see Adaware Secure Search anywhere. I followed the instructions that required the use of Troubleshooting and found Adaware is also not in my FF profile (that I can tell - the .xpi files are difficult to figure out since the majority are in number value). Tried refreshing FF and it showed up again. Un/re-installed FF and there it is again!...but this time i had the "joy" of having to redo my tabs, etc. It isn't on my other browsers either, just FF.

How do I get this removed? I don't want it to somehow become enabled in my system.

Hi folks,

Im thinking of switching browsers from IE10 to firefox. In IE10 I could control programmatic clipboard access by disabling it, and therefore stop websites from capturing any text/data I have stored in the local clipboard.

What does firefox do to stop this exploit? I am checking security functions of browsers before I switch.

Many thanks.
