Is there a way to remove the sponsored link from the address bar drop down? Yesterday a link from a company that is run by terrorists showed up in the list. Shift+Del does not remove it. I understand Mozilla needs to get money somehow, but this is offensive. The link is for Ebay and it has the word sponsored next to it. Since the address bar drop down disappears when I hit any key, it is impossible to screenshot.

Downloading and Opening docx Firefox appends doc onto file

I am using Hotdocs portal, which is an in-house document assembly tool. Firefox is the recommended browser, but it is recently handling 2016 docx files incorrectly. When we choose a file on the portal site (internal site), we go through the interview and are presented with a link to "download" the assembled file. When you click that link, a pop-up appears showing the file name as abc.docx but then says it is a Word 97 - 2003 document, even though it is not. The original template is not. If I choose to open the file, it ends up opening and showing as abc.docx.doc If I save the file, instead of opening it, it saves as abc.docx.

If we run this same process in IE/Edge, the file opens as abc.docx as it should. I have uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled. Is there anything that could be causing this? I've tried a bunch of troubleshooting steps and nothing seems to change this outcome.

Thank you.

I am building a website and, for the last couple of days, when I make changes to the CSS file they are no longer being picked up by the browser by which I mean they aren't displayed in the web page nor in the developer tools inspector.

They are visible in Chromium browser and dev tools.

I have cleared the cache and refreshed the page to no avail. It is only when I restart the browser that the new style rules take effect in the browser and show up in the dev tools.

Hi! I found a strange thing today. I wanted to open an ftp link and firefox asked me in which app I wanted to open it. Of course I wanted to open it in Firefox, but the only app on list was Internet Explorer. So, I added Firefox to the list, but I couldn't open the link with it, because when I marked Firefox and tried to click "open", nothing happend and the box still appeared. So, I ended up using IE. I'm using Firefox Nightly (81.0a1 atm of encountering this).

I am running a WIN10 Pro 20H2 PC with Firefox 83.0. All software up-to-date. My Internet connect is cable with a U.S. IP location.

All O.K, until I open "https://www.newegg.com/" with my default Firefox browser, which always opens "https://www.newegg.com/global/uk-en/".

Opening the same "https://www.newegg.com/" URL from the same password manager entry explicitly using Chrome or Edge I get to the desired U.S. location.

Does not occur on my other PCs.

Firefox is changing the URL so that I am always going to the UK location?

Can't find where this is happening. Can anyone assist?

I went to SETTINGS and it looks like it is turned on but there should be a HELP topic for this damn thing without drilling down for over 2,000 help topics! If I cannot know 100% that it is ON and working... then I'll get my money back. I don't have TIME to fool around with BULLSHIT! Be clear. Be comprehensive. Be succinct!

I was notified by a 3rd party monitoring service of a potential scam involving my email address, DOB, tel #, etc. To the best of my knowledge my password was not compromised. I contacted the potential site from the alerts which was GTL.Net and after contacting customer support I was told they had nothing to do with GTL. This company appears legitimate but I have had no dealings with them and have no idea whether I am being scammed or not. But they were possibly accessing information which they did not need. Help, I am stuck as to what alternatives are available.

We monitor online activity to identify the potential illegal trading and selling of your personal information. Unfortunately, we found a match which indicates the information within the red box above is available online. If your password was also compromised, that will be noted in the "Additional Info" section below. Please note, this is the password associated with the site where your email address was procured.

If the “potential site” information is populated, we obtained credible evidence that this is the possible site from which your email address and password, if applicable, were found and we recommend you change your password for this site.

If the "potential site" is not named, you should consider what sites you have associated with the “Monitored Element Email Addresses” and consider changing your password on those sites..

For example, if you set up an account with madeupwebsite.com (fictitious site for this example), you provided your email address to this site and established a password for this site; that password should be changed. See additional comments under “Here's what to do:”, below. We monitor online activity to identify the potential illegal trading and selling of your personal information. If the password is not identified above, that does not necessarily indicate your password is safe. Passwords might not be visible to our monitoring due to encryption or otherwise, yet they could be procured and encryption cracked by parties obtaining information from the dark web. Utilize smart password habits. Re-using passwords across multiple sources may increase your vulnerability to identity thieves. Create unique and strong passwords for your accounts using a mix of special characters, numbers and upper and lower case letters known only to you.

Here's what to do: Ensure the accounts that contain your phone number are secure. Many times, your phone number is used to authenticate your name and account information for websites like Gmail and Facebook.

I cannot get Firefox to go completely into full screen on Mac OS Catalina. When going full screen it will hide the Mac system menu bar at the top, but it will not hide the Firefox address bar. I've researched a bit and found some suggestions about settings in about:config pertaining to full screen access, and I've exhausted all of those suggestions. Is this a known issue on Mac with Firefox?
