Firefox has never given me a problem. Today it will not start at all. I have tried updating, uninstall and re install and nothing works. System is Win 8 64 bit with Intel 2700K , 16 g memory and Gtx 570 x2 video cards in SLI mode. No changes have bee made to hardware or software to cause this problem. I have turned off anti virus software with no results.

Cannot log in to Mozilla Support. It won't accept my username or password. Reset password email says my account is already activated.

Tried accessing Mozilla Support Forums for Firefox Desktop Support, which I have used many times. It would not accept my username and password, claiming they were incorrect. I tried the Password Reset feature, which opened a window saying that accounts created before December 2010 may have issues logging in. Please reset your password below. It instructs me to enter my email address so that it can send me instructions for setting a new password. I enter my email address. It says we've sent an email to any account using this address. Please follow the link in the email to reset your password. I go to my email. Nothing is there. I wait, but still nothing.

I go back to the sign in page, and click on the link - I didn't get a confirmation email - under Login Problems. A new window opens which tells me that to activate my account I must first confirm my email address. I reenter my email address. I get an email from Mozilla right away, telling me that my account is already activated, and it gives me a link to log in. I click on that link. I enter my username and password again. Same error message denying me access and telling me to enter a correct username and password. I try this a couple more times with no success. Same repeating errors.

So I try to create a NEW account using a different username with my email address. It will not let me do that. It says that email address is already taken, and it will not allow me to proceed. I ultimately had to set up a new account with an email address that I never use, just so I could access the Help features. I am exasperated. I do not want to post my Questions using an email address that I do not use, and have to open another application to even access. I want to be able to receive a message from Mozilla in my normal everyday email address, if someone has replied to my post. But since Mozilla will not let me use my existing email address for the new account I set up, I cannot do that.

This is very frustrating. Mozilla will not allow me access to my original user account that was already set up with my preferred email address. And Mozilla won't let me create a new user account with my preferred email address. Now I am stuck with a new user account that is linked to an email address that I never use and which is not easily accessible to me. As a last resort, I access my new user account in hopes that it will allow me to change the email address that is linked to the account, but of course, that is not an option.

Can someone please help me to access my original account with my original username and password? If a password reset is necessary, then I should not be getting a reply email telling me my account is already activated (see below). If it is activated, then why can't I log in? What is going on? Please help me. Thank you.

Find (Ctrl+F) no longer shows total results

Just updated to FireFox 20.0. Ctrl+F no longer shows the total found. This feature otherwise works. I did do a Reset to see if that will help. Now am putting Addons back. Worked fine in prior version (19). Use browser for research so numer is important.

So far I like the new version. Should I go back to 19? How? Using current version of Java and Flash player. Windows 8. Let me know how I can help.

How can I stop FF accessing the network long after a page has been downloaded? I tried toggling network.dns.disablePrefetch boolean false to true, and network.prefetch-next boolean true to false using about:config, but it did not help. I am concerned that there might be some malware running, though I have a fully updated Windows 7 Professional x64 system with Microsoft Security Essentials. I also ran Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, which found no problems. I am basing my observation on my Network Activity Indicator icon in the Taskbar.

I do not have a firebox button on top of firefox window. was trying to reset as do not have any toolbars. I have right clicked in toolbar area- no options???

Have been trying to add a menu tool bar and/or a bookmark tool bar. No options appear when I right click in the toolbar area-- only whether or not to hide toolbars. One suggestion was to reset firefox by bringing down a window by right clicking the firefox button in upper left corner. I do not have such a button. I am frustrated and going around in circles. Your video on toolbars does not run. Pretends it does, but does nothing. I have been a Firefox user for years without any problems. Firefox browser got hijacked and unable to solve the problem because access to you is really a challenge. Avast suggested browser cleanup & although it temporarily went away it came back. So I uninstalled Firefox and switched my allegiance to Google Crome. Preferred the Firefox browser, however so reinstalled-- and here I am. Right now-- not a satisfied customer! I run firefox on a Windows 7 OS. I would try reinstalling but have already imported by bookmarks from Crome-- could this be part of the problem? Shouldn't be, I would think. Thanks for any help.

firefox wanted me to download an update?

I got a tab pop up telling me to update Firefox. I closed the tab, and it popped back up later.

I didn't really trust it, but it popped again. So I downloaded the requested "Update Installer" But did not install it.

Then I went to Firefox Main Page, and it tells me I am already using the latest Firefox...Version 26.0 and when I click on Help - About Firefox - It tells me Firefox is up to date. and I never installed the Updated I downloaded.

The download DID NOT come from mozilla.org, and so - not trusting it, I did not install it...I even deleted the update file from my Downloads folder and then Emptied the Recycle bin to get this program completely off my computer.

Is there some kind of virus out there, trying to trick people into downloading an un-needed update to Firefox, that will do God knows what to your computer?

Someone should be aware of this!
