One day I went on Firefox to go to AOL, once on AOL I went to sign in to get my e mail. By mistake I typed my password in the space for Username. I erased it but ever since that day, when I click on the username space, among the offered usernames, from the drop down menu, is my pass word and I want to delete it so it never appears on that drop down menu of usernames. Thanks. JEFF

In firefox 3 (I just upgraded to 8..) I used to be able to type something like this, in the address bar: "youtube pink floyd welcome to the machine" and it would automatically go to the most common youtube page that fit that description. Another example: "imdb iron man" and it would take me directly to the page about Iron Man on IMDB.

Firefox 8 doesn't seem to do this, and only goes to a google search page. Is there any way to change this? Perhaps in the about:config? Or even an add-on?

My previous version of FireFox would go to a website by entering the address minus ".com, .org, .net, etc". For example, if I wanted to visit eBay I would go to the address bar and type "eBay" then press enter. I would not have to type "eBay.com". That feature made surfing the web very quick and easy for me. Now when I type "eBay" I am directed to a search engine and have to click it from there. I know I can always add the ".com", but I really liked the ability of not having to. Is there a way to retrieve that feature for this version of FireFox?

Hi,

I'm developing a web site that seems to show up the following problem. On initial load everything renders fine but if I hit F5 (or I've visited the site previously) then FF seems to lose all reference to the external components, stylesheets and images. If I hit Ctrl F5 then everything reloads OK. I'm assuming as FF (and all other browsers I've tried) can render the screen OK (on Ctrl F5) this must be a bug, but maybe I'm missing something.

Any ideas ?

It is like looking at a plain but contracted text page almost without attributes. There are links but the page is difficult to use. The background picture has disappeared and so has the text Change Background. Existing links do not work. Mozilla pages seem to be working. It might have occured because of a file cleaning operation by CCleaner but it is not sure because there were hours between the occurences. This has happened once before and could not be fixed except by removing the Firefox installation and reinstalling. I have looked through all the possible settings but no luck.

Running Firefox version 9.0.1 (Just now upgraded from 8.0.1) on a Windows 7 PC. Just installed a HP Officejet 6500A wireless printer. Printer works fine from Chrome, IE and Microsoft Word, but Firefox apparently cannot find it. Print command does nothing. Print Preview command generates a note stating that a printer can not be found. I no longer have the HP Deskjet 970Cse or the Cannon MP210 printers installed on my computer.

On all HTTPS sites, I get this message...

Please contact the web site owners to inform them of this problem. Alternatively, use the command found in the help menu to report this broken site.

This happens ever since I updated from FF6 on all sites that use https for logging on... I've contacted most of the sites and they say it's not them... they are all sites that I've accessed in the past and use regularly... now since I've updated FF, they don't work anymore and I've had to use another browser to access these sites... it's a royal pain!

While on Firefox and using Google as the search engine, it randomly opens a separate window asking "You have chosen to open-Search ". I didn't even press any commands or any sort for it to pop out. It's becoming very frustrating as each time I close it and continue to type it appears again.http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/412/firefoxerror.jpg/

The title says it all. I also checked Windows' Event Viewer for entries but there are none present. It does not crash every time, but when it does, it is always within the first few seconds of running and will do so several attempts in a row. Changing to a blank home page made no difference. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled with a fresh download (no add-ons) to no avail. This is a computer I just built. XP 32 bit, Kingston 120 GB SSD, 8GB memory (only 3.17 seen by the OS by design).
