Everything worked fine until latest Win 7 update, but i have no functioning 'restore point' to rollback to, so i have to find a workaround. Sound works on the PC, i can play mp3's or mp4's fine. But audio from Youtube or FaceBook or BBC Iplayer is absent when i open these sites in Firefox. (yes i've checked for volume and muting, i've cleared the cache i 've tried in safe mode, all without success) I tried one modification to the registry which worked ONCE and not afterwards.....which is of course impossible. If i open the very same sites in Opera...the audio is perfect. WHAT ON EARTH is going on and how do i put this right? Thanks in advance for any insights and fixes.

i know everyone is waiting just to get his addons back but the only thing i'm interested in is: How can i disable this stupid addon verification??? I'm old enough to know what addons i install and don't need and especially want a permanent supervisor that drives me in such a situation to have all the scripts and more enabled that i don't want! If i want a browser who knows better what is good for me than me i'll take chrome. So how can i disable this verification?????

My diagnostic report said to delete some unused programs so wondering if I have to keep this old version or can I get rid of it, will save 144 mb. My confusion is the lower number is the most recent, with the addition of esr. I just uninstalled a Java 8 Update 73 because I have installed Java 8 Update 131, which should logically supersede it, right?! Thx.

I cannot make any new bookmarks, period. Neither the button in the address bar, nor the button in the menu, nor the keyboard shortcut will make a new bookmark. all previously added bookmarks still work fine, and still show up in the manager screen.

When I try to add a bookmark, nothing happens, no menu pops up, nothing changes, it just has no response for that input for some odd reason.

as far as I remember, an addon didn't cause this issue, as ive had this current set of addons for about a year, and only began to experience this issue a month or two ago, and disabling all of them doesn't fix the issue.

Would appreciate any help, as I am getting quite sick of dumping all of my bookmarks into a text file,

Ill be happy to provide any info needed, but may need a bit of help accessing it, since i haven't done virtually any in depth tinkering with firefox's inner workings

I set up a Linux OS on my computer and wanted to export all my login data from Firefox Quantum in Windows to it. I tried looking everywhere for what to do, but can't find anything. I've tried syncing my Firefox account, copying then pasting everything from my Firefox profile in Windows into the Firefox profile in Linux, however it only imported my bookmarks and none of my login information. Is there a way that I am missing or may have overlooked that will allow me to export all the login information so I don't have to reconfigure everything?

With a recent update I started getting these pop up messages when I visit a website that say "According to WHOIS information this domain was registered on..." They appear to be associated with the "show site information" icon in the address bar. Can be very annoying as I am just visiting sites and having to constantly dismiss them. Is there some way to eliminate this?

Since I updated to Firefox 60.0 (Quantum) yesterday Firefox is extremely slow to load. Once loaded, its speed is highly diminished. The recommendation is to refresh Firefox to its factory setting. But it loses extensions, which makes it a pretty lousy solution. I do not know where I got the extensions from, but I am using them all.

I have Windows 10. The Microsoft Edge browser loads very quickly.

Firefox is so slow it is unusable.

Until a couple of days ago when the Firefox 66.0 update was automatically downloaded to my computer, I was able to go to Tools>options>privacy and security>see cookies. Why has this facility been removed? I do not want to simply be able to do a blanket "clear recent history" because doing that means I have to log in afresh to all the websites I do trust. I want to be able to see wat cookies have been placed from sites I don't know simply because I have carried out a Google search. It seems a retrograde step to have removed this, and as a result I shall be uninstalling Firefox. A great shame!

1st, it is important to note that I absolutely do not want to use any cloud servers for this question. I want to create multiple Firefox profiles, and be able to create and use bookmarks across them.

Note that in my case, I do not want to share bookmarks between different devices or browsers.

I already understand that Firefox Sync uses encryption and other means, to absolutely 100% guarantee that my bookmarks and other data is secure, just like all the other large firms that have experienced user data theft. So, I don't want to use that system.

Is it perhaps possible to set multiple profiles to use the same bookmark file? And while I typically just use one profile at a time, I can see the benefit of using two at once. So, ideally, that would be desirable.

Thanks for any advice, -Joe

The site that it is blocking is Chaturbate

The problem is worse than just blocking an adult content site. Several of my affiliate sites are being blocked by Firefox due to the association with chaturbate

Chome and Edge are working just fine.

Adding an exception does not allow me to continue on to the site.

How can this be fixed?

In the admin account and all user accoutns, I had Firefox > Options > Advanced > NO UPDATES and turned OFF "Use a background service to install updates."

I created a new account on this computer. The VERY FIRST THING I did was go to Firefox > Options > Advanced > NO UPDATES and turned OFF "Use a background service to install updates."

Guess what. It updated. It updated for all accounts.

I've easily lost four work days of time in the first 8 months of 2019 because of FIrefox updates. I need a way to stop updates. ALL updates. FOREVER. ALL UPDATES UNCONDITIONALLY BLOCKED. No leakage. I do not want them with a goat. I do not want them on a boat. I do not want them here or there. I do not want them anywhere. Is there any remaining ambiguity?

The ways described above don't cut it. So let's think unconventionally. Is there a file I can set the protections on, so Firefox's update balks and gives up? Can I create a file that has a name that Firefox update expects, and give that file some content or property so that Firefox update fails?

This happens on Steam videos and Youtube. I think it happens elsewhere too. This has been happening for 6 months or more.

If I have Firefox maximised and watch a video in YouTube and then double click on the video and it goes full-screen (not browser F11 full-screen) then I see the arrows in the first picture in the video window. This happens on Steam vids when full-screen also.

If I then make Firefox go full-screen mode (F11) then double click on a YouTube (or Steam) video to make it full screen I see no navigation arrows.

Any idea how to fix this?

I have tried disabling all the add-ons and restarting but still does it.

Thanks for any help.

I installed an unrelated program that snuck in a few changes to my computer - including deleting all of my browser drop down search engines and replaced them with ones that they wanted me to use.

I was able to re-add about half of them but the rest are not giving me the little green plus sign on their sites even though that is how I added them in the first place. I'm assuming they had simply been grandfathered in when I upgraded to quantum, but if they were have-able and use-able with it then why would I not be able to re-add them? I did a system restore on the off chance that it would work, but it didn't.

Is there *anything* I can do to roll back my browser settings, or manually edit them in, either under program files or in about:config? (I'm fairly certain "restore default engines" is not an option because these were not installation defaults)

I use these engines almost daily and before you ask, they are not available in FireFox' add-on search. I looked.

Hi. I have a some problem with my Firefox (60.0.1 x64, ubuntu 18.04). Firefox asks me to save my login and password when I do login to site, but when I want to visit this site later, Firefox don't input my saved login and password. I tried to restart it to safe mode and all works correctly: saved login/pass put into input fields fine. After this, I disabled all of most my used extensions, but saved logins and passwords aren't used in input fields all the same. All works correctly in safe mode only. How can I fix it?
