I'm unable to search from the navigation bar anymore. Instead of it automatically searching using my selected search engine it tries to resolve whatever I type as an actual URL. I've tried switching the search engine in settings but that doesn't work either.

I uninstalled firefox and reinstalled it but the problem was still there. I also tried to launch in safe mode with no change.

Any help would be great! Thanks!

If I hit gmail, then contacts, a pop up opens to the upper right and points to small box that has account, search, maps and many more. no contacts. heree is the pop up Your Contacts are here. Contacts, and many other Google apps, can be found under this menu.

Google safe browsing is using a poor quality engine or fault algorithm and is false flagging sites as containing malware and false flagging download files as containing malware/viruses.

Here is one example:

Google flagged AutoHotkey_104805.zip as containing malware or a virus.

Analysis of AutoHotkey_104805.zip in June of 2018 by virustotal.com (https://www.virustotal.com/ro/file/c8bf1c3dc4622559963b6626316ba1d083bb8a8af605f78382e371e5294d435a/analysis/) shows that out of 59 engines used to test the file only Cylance detected a problem with the file. Cylance is not a top rated engine and that detection is almost certain to be a false positive.

The follow engines passed AutoHotkey_1.1.28.00.zip as CLEAN:

Ad-Aware, AegisLab, AhnLab-V3, Alibaba, ALYac, Arcabit, Avast, Avast Mobile, AVG, Avira, AVware, Babable, Baidu, BitDefender, Bkav, CAT-QuickHeal, ClamAV, CMC, Comodo, DrWeb, Emsisoft, ESET-NOD32, F-Prot, Fortinet, GData, Ikarus, Sophos ML, Jiangmin, K7AntiVirus, K7GW, Kaspersky, Kingsoft, Malwarebytes, MAX, McAfee, McAfee-GW-Edition, Microsoft, eScan, NANO-Antivirus, Panda, Qihoo-360, Rising, SUPERAntiSpyware, Symantec, TACHYON, Tencent, TheHacker, TotalDefense, TrendMicro, TrendMicro-HouseCall, VBA32, VIPRE, ViRobot, Webroot, Yandex, Zoner

NOTE: 9 of the these engines are in the top 10 anitvirus/malware engines (UNDERLINED). All reported that AutHotkey_1.1.28.00.zip is CLEAN. F-Secure was not run on this file.

Google safe browsing claims that this file is INFECTED.

Similar analysis of multiple other Google Safe Browsing "infected" files from this site show similar CLEAN results when tested by virustotal.com.

Mozilla should report this issue to Google and demand that Google employ only quality engines to screen files. Google should employ better quality algorithms to prevent false flagging of files and web sties.

If Firefox is going to block web access to sites and to downloads based upon bad data from Google, then I am going to be forced to switch to another browser.

Mozilla. Stand up, take action, and provide the quality service you have provided IN THE PAST.

THERE IS A SECOND MAJOR ISSUE. Once a download file is flagged as containing malware there is a bug in Firefox. The only options offered by Firefox are "REMOVE FILE" or "OPEN". "OPEN" should not be an option at this point. The options should be "DOWNLOAD ANYWAY" or "REMOVE FILE". With the current options and an .exe file (if downloaded) will be immediately executed resulting in infection if the file is tainted. With my suggested options, If a user chooses to "DOWNLOAD ANYWAY" then Firefox should remind the user the file may be infected and should recommend that the file be scanned by the user's antivirus/malware software before opening.

Hope someone can help. My problem: i'm reading along, have a question from an article that I'm browsing, want to open a new tab immediatly to the right of where I am at so I an google some question or whatnot. What I do now is look for link on the page I am currently on, then click that, doesn't matter what or where it leads, so long as it gets me a page I can google search from. This seems untidy, and I can't do it if the page I'm on has no links, or is some kind of white paper.

Still unable to sign into sync even after selecting " forgot my password " even though I know my password, I then put my email add in " Reset Password " then click on Email link " Create New Password " I then get the message saying " 500 Error " and also " Unexpected Error " on everything I've tried , I've even logged out of every device I have Firefox on and completely uninstalled and reinstalled and also Refreshed Firefox but still not able to " Sign In To Sync " So now I can't access my saved bookmarks and sites on my Mobile phone because I can't sign into sync, everything was fine until I noticed this morning whilst going to update the Sync , that was when i see it wasn't syncing , Please can someone help me to log back in to sync.

Firefox just updated and it moved my bookmarks toolbar ABOVE my navigation bar. I would like it below the navigation bar, like I had it for the last 12 years+ on Firefox. HOW DO I FIX THIS?

Both sites worked fine until this morning. I checked via Chrome and Brave and both websites work fine under those browsers so I'm not sure why these sites will no longer load. Other websites will open with Firefox, just not YouTube or Facebook. Other websites with embedded YT videos will load, but the videos will not appear.

I updated my anti-virus (Avast!) and also tried disabling and then removing my VPN extension from Firefox and restarting the PC but the websites still won't load.

Should have been warned that Ver68 would screw up my life. After upgrading from Ver 65 to Ver 68, my profile is not being found by the new install. I do NOT desire "synching' with other devices, and it is a security risk to have to use an "account" to do this. Not to mention getting completely screwed if I cannot access the Web or lose the password.

What idiot thinks this stuff up? What committee of monkeys on keyboards allows it to be implemented?

Hello FF team.

starting with FF update 56 to 57 and so on I got this strange problem: it looks like my key4.db file gets corrupted and FF become almost useless after I access my saved passwords and then exit the browser. If I delete the key4.db file (I still have the key3.db and logins.json files in profile folder) everything works fine. The key4.db file is generated, my passwords are there and I can use them till next browser exit/restart. Here are the symptoms:

- upon start the browser directly asks for master password (normally I'm asked for the master password only when I really need it) - no browsing history is shown in the address bar - enter key and 'Go to...' button do not work at all (I can only open a site if it is bookmarked) - when I go to browser's options there is nothing under 'Search' section - in other words the content cannot be loaded or displayed - when I open 'Saved Logins' dialog there is nothing - there are no *corrupt files in my profile directory

So when this happens I have to exit the browser and delete the key4.db file. However if I don't access my saved logins during the session at all, there is no such problem. I can start/use/exit the browser as many times as I want and it works fine. So it looks like the access to the saved logins breaks something.

I have an incorrect address in my history that I want to delete or correct. How can I do it? I do not want to delete all the of the history, just this one address.

The feature for autofill addresses and credit cards doesn't show up like its supposed to here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/automatically-fill-address-and-credit-cards#w_turn-autofill-on-or-off Anyone know how i can turn it on?

I would like to use Roboto Medium as my default font for firefox, but I am unable to select select a different font weight. I am on Linux. In Gnome settings, under Roboto, I can choose various weights like Light, Medium, etc., but not in Firefox. It take the default normal weight. Is there an advanced configuration where I can change it ?

I have tried turning off addons, tried safe mode, no change. Previously everything was fine till update.

Now, videos like on youtube run at a very low framerate, animated icons just crawl, countdowns that should be one per second are running at one per 5 seconds, everything that should be moving is very slow. Browsing to new pages is fine. Have tried some of the suggested changes to settings, nothing helps.

I know there is https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1071788 and https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1061460 but suggested `browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground` doesn't work for me - it simply opens everything in the background which is even more annoying.

At this point I would consider this a bug - I don't give a rat's nose about what magic javascript (pseudo-)developers but if I hold CMD button and make a click I want window to be opened in the background! (it seems that gmail is the main culprit, but probably most of google-produced FantasticCreation is affected by it…)
