I just ran the latest update -- 51.0.1. (64bit). I have my startup page but when I click on a site, I get to the site (according to the URL) but all I see is a blank page. If I do Firefox Refresh (not a page refresh), everything works ok. But once I close Firefox and the reopen it, I get the same result, blank pages no matter which website I go to. The only thing that solves the problem is Firefox Refresh. And then only temporarily.

This is really a difficult one, that needs deep understanding of the firefox browser. Consider the following scenario: I try to watch a sport stream at DAZN, it works on Windows 7 with Firefox Portable 51.0.1, having automatically installed the following plugins: o OpenH264-Videocodec o Primetime Content Decryption Module o Windows Presentation Foundation

In contrast, when I try to watch the same stream on my Windows XP computer (with Firefox Portable 51.0.1, too), I am asked to install Silverlight. Why does this happen? At Windows 7 it seemed that it got streamed via HTML5, I didn't have to install Silverlight. I installed the same three modules listed above, setting the appropriate flags in about:config, etc. In Plugins I find some more listed, like Microsoft DRM, etc.

I don't understand why DAZN behaves differently, depending on which Windows OS I open the platform, how can this happen? Afterwards I even installed Silverlight, but the page reloads periodically, each 1-2 seconds, showing a few video frames, before it reloads again. Additionally, the dialogue appears over and over again, asking if I would like to allow Silverlight. It can't be any Silverlight issue, because Silverlight works fine on another platform (SKY GO).

I would appreciate some technical insight into this, because I have no idea/explanation what's going in and how I can get this started on Windows XP. At least I want to understand the different behavior.

Thanks.

For some concise background, I'm a designer and need to work with a variety of typefaces. I had a lot in my font folder, for Windows 7, and cleared them all. Of course, there are some the system wouldn't let me delete since they're essential. Then, I installed the fonts I needed after. My font folder is ideal right now.

However, there's one small problem that's irritating me. On a variety of webpages, such as Yahoo Answers and Behance, there's a version of Helvetica or Helvetica Neue being displayed, either one of the thin or light fonts. See the attachments.

The funny thing is, I purposely deleted those fonts since I don't like them. As you can tell, the thin/light version is very hard to read and almost has no use. When I had those fonts, I still had this problem, so I'm not sure what to do. I also have this issue with Internet Explorer on the same pages. Firefox lets websites choose their own fonts, which obviously gets rid of the issue, but brings about a whole variety of new issues depending on each webpage that I won't bother explaining.

There is no way to download Windows 7's default fonts in 2017, to my knowledge. I've searched far and wide on the internet for a solution. I could ask Microsoft about this problem, but they'll likely just tell me to buy the latest version of Windows.

A few weeks ago, my Firefox browser became unusable. I do not know what caused this to happen. When I went into Firefox, the first thing that I noticed was that my bookmark toolbar was gone. The next thing I noticed was that typing something into the search field and clicking enter produces no result. And then, of course, the main and largest problem was that typing something into the address bar also produced no result. I could not visit any web pages with Firefox. At this point, I was forced to use Chrome.

I ran a full virus scan with Bitdefender (free version) and I also ran MalwareBytes. It did find a PuP: GeekBuddy, which I proceeded to remove. This did not solve my problem. I then uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, this did not solve the problem. I then tried to disable my firewall and virus services to see if I could access web pages from Firefox: I could not. I tried the troubleshooting steps provided by Firefox such as restarting in Safe Mode and Refreshing, this did not fix it. I then decided to try something else. I uninstalled Firefox and I then ran CCleaner, the registry cleanup from CCleaner. I removed all of the old registry entries etc. I then restarted and ran it again. I then installed Firefox. At this point, I was able to use Firefox again.

At this point, I can use Firefox but I cannot change any of my default settings: such as to change my home page, to not remember history, or to change my default search provider, which is currently defaulting to Yahoo. If I change any one of these settings, Firefox opens up and is totally unusable as before. I have to Refresh Firefox to get back into action with Firefox.

In addition, I cannot install NoScript, if I do that I also see that my Firefox is totally unusable as before and I have to Refresh Firefox again. I am really upset about this, I do not know if my browser has been hijacked somehow. How can I clean up my Firefox completely and stop all of this aberrant behavior?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I am using extension for Firefox - Zoom page that is showing zoom level of the page. Recently after firefox update I discovered that this is Zoom level indicator on the right side of the address bar. That's a bit annoying to see double indicator at once. Moreover, I'd like to use the extension indicator instead of standard firefox indicator in the inappropriate place like address bar. Is it possible to remove or hide it somehow? Thanks

I have been attempting to complete some C# Unity tutorials, and ran in to a really weird problem.

It appears that FireFox has replaced all instances of the character '=' with the character '-'. This took me a great deal of time to diagnose. I first thought the '-' was intentional, and spent a great deal of time trying to determine how an '-' operator would work in the apparent use. I then assumed it was an author error, but upon copying the excerpt into my email application to submit a report to the original author, I observed that all '-' instances that should have been '=' had in fact returned to the '=' character.

How would I go about fixing something like this? More importantly, how could it happen? It makes following code tutorials particularly difficult, unless I move to another browser.

For easier readability, I have attached both variations as images. The first image is a screenshot of the script, as it appears in FireFox. The second image displays the code, as it appears if I copy and paste it into this very form I am using to submit my question/ bug report.

Hello,

I am using a Web GUI Management portal to access and manage my network equipment. The default certificate was recently revoked for this and so I renewed it and have uploaded successfully. Works fine on Chrome and IE, however when I get to FireFox it says the below:

The owner of <website-name.com> has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website.

Please can you explain why and if there is a fix. I am connecting via HTTPS on all browsers.

Thanks, Connor
