Looking for any help removing a Trojan that seems to be effecting Firefox. Anti virus continues to detect Exploit-WinampPLS.b.gen. I used online support from Mcafee, they remove a profile entry from Firefox, rescanned, and it was gone, but it appears to return shortly after removed. I have tried resetting Firefox, deleting cash and reinstalling Firefox, it keeps coming back. Any ideas?

Every search i've done since the last update, Firefox open the new search in the old tab. I've already fixed the boolean valor in browser.search.openintab to true in about:config, but it's working only with google search (and not, i.e. with youtube search).

I installed freeware that hijacked my search. It removed all of the default search engines and left only bing which was then set to my default. I managed to get bing off the list and added google so I can search. It is not my preferred search tool. I cannot find my preferred search, yahoo, as an add-on. The restore search engines tool is grayed out. I tried a reset add-ons to no avail. I am using Windows 7. Do I need to reinstall firefox?

I accepted your latest update for OSx last night. When it competed, my whole Firefox profile was changed: Add-ons gone Preferences changed Customized toolbars stripped to basic Extensions etc., menus, search engines, other toolbar stuff ...

ALL GONE!!! WTF??

HOW CAN YOUR SOFTWARE SCREW ITSELF UP AND AS A RESULT SCREW UP THE USER'S INVESTMENT IN BUILDING THE FIREFOX SETUP? AND NOW I HAVE TO TAKE MY TIME TO FIGURE OUT HOW TOO FIX IT??? I HATE WASTING TIME WHEN YOU (AND OTHER SOFTWARE PROVIDERS) DESTROY THE INVESTMENT WE HAVE ALREADY MADE AND BECAUSE OF YOUR UNILATERAL LANDMINES INCLUDED IN "UPDATES", WE USERS HAVE A BIG F*CKING HEADACHE TO TRY TO GET BACK TO FUNCTIONING AS FROM BEFORE THE "UPDATE" .... Yesterday, I had to reinstall Firefox after accidentally downloading a hijacker (Binkiland.) In order to clear it, I had to uninstall then re-install Firefox. The problem now is that with Adblock Plus turned on, ALL my visuals disappear. I can see only text. (I was also using AdNauseam, piggy-backing on Adblock Plus, before the re-install.)

I noted an Alert telling me AdNauseam would not work without first having AdBlock Plus operating. But in order to see anything at all, I was forced to disable AdBlock Plus. This was never a problem, previously. I have confirmed that the version of Firefox I'm using is the latest edition. I'd be very glad if you can fix this! Thank you.

Both Autopager and Ziftr alerts are shown as incompatibile with latest version of Firefox -- 36.0.4.

Can anything be done to fix this? Is it Mozilla's problem or the developers of the add-on? Oris this a problem of incompatibility with another ad-on, as often is the case?

In your last version I was able to pull down the extra Adobe cookie removal selection from the Tools menu. I don't see it in the new version. Has it been incorporated into the general cookie removal process? Now using version 36.0.4, Windows 8.1 Thanks

I've tried about:config, browser/newtab/url, put my desired url in, and saved it. I quit firefox, restarted firefox, and it opened to my homepage. When I clicked new tab, it did not go to my desired url. I re-tried about:config, brower/newtab....., and the correct url is in there, but it is still not going to my desired url when I click new tab. Seems like something is overriding my preferences.

I have just finished creating information website www.darimulutkemulut.com (DMM) which provides opportunity to post short classified ads free of charge. The site is mainly focused on Indonesia visitors, but can be used by everyone.

What should be done so that the website become visible to others in Mozilla search engine results? At the moment Mozilla search doesn't provide any search results for my site. The only opportunity to open the site - if to put its name in the address bar. But normally people just use search engine.

I upgraded to FF 36.0.4 and was unable to access pages I had before. I installed Flash 17.0.0.134, Quicktime 7.7.6, and latest Shockwave and still unable to view National Weather Service animated radar images. FF says I need plug in but not which one. Flash home page gives same msg where it should tell you which version you have.

Other people on the forum use firefox without problems and I have done so in the past. I'm trying to switch back from Chrome but this is a huge block for me. I have checked for updates and cleared the history and cache as suggested in the FAQs. ANy advice?

Hello, When I open a new tab on firefox, it is redirecting to "homepage-web.com/?s=hp&m=tab"... which my McAfee SiteAdvisor is flagging as a "suspcious site". I've searched on the firefox help forums and looked at my add ons to see if there was anything dodgy in there... all I have are the one's I installed (i think): 1 click YouTube Video downloader 2.3.8 (I've had this over a month before this tab issue started). McAfee Site Advisor 3.7.2 Right inbox for Gmail 3.6.0 McAfee Security Scan Plus 1.0 (disabled)

When I real an email, it completely drops off. It's not in the trash. Sometimes I'd like to re-read it; but I can't find it. I've tried to "star" the email; but it isn't in the "star" file. Sometimes they are in "important" but not always.

Last night I upgraded to Firefox 36.0.4, updated my flash to Adobe Flash 17 NPAPI, and shockwave to Adobe Shockwave Player 12.1

The system automatically installs a plugin called Shockwave for Director.

My system crashes anytime there is any Flash content on the screen from any page in Firefox (regular and safe mode), and I get the message

"Shockwave Flash may be busy or have stopped responding. You can stop the plugin now, or you can continue to see if the plugin will complete."

There is no issue with Chrome, I am about to test IE.

Does anyone think unstalling Firefox, Adobe Flash, and Adobe Shockwave, then re-installng all three problems will help?

Also, I don't know if this is important, but I am not able to get to the Adobe Flash settings page because when I right click just on Flash Motion, the system freezes.

It downloads to 97% then starts over. I have been using firefox on my desktop pc for a long time, but cant't get it installed on my notebook. I have deactivated eset firewall and windows defender still no go. IE 11 does work.

I use an addon called Maskme which fills in fake email addresses tied to the real email. When one wants to stop the resultant spam, all he has to do is to block the email. Mozilla recommends another program that is a password program and not what I use and it doesn't mask the emails.

What happened? A good little add on which I used a lot.

If it can't be reinstated, I will have to finally go back to another browser, reluctantly, because that is one of the programs I use a lot, as well as one that uses activeX (which only works on Explorer). Seems like Mozilla is slowly reducing my choices!
