This is my second problem of the day: When I'm on one particlar website on the "chat" page (which is a streaming, real-time conversation "room"), a gray-black box pops up that says "Plugin is needed to display this content", with an action button, "Install plugin..." Now, the odd thing is that the content is already displayed perfecty and is functioning, but this box is blocking part of it. When I click on the "Install plugin..." button, another window comes up that says that a suitable plugin couldn't be found. But the original gray-black box won't go away, even when I click on the "X" in the upper right corner. ... Obviously a plugin is not needed anyhow; how can I get rid of this box? Thanks much, Bob

Windows 7 64 bit and Firefox 28. When trying to 'Save Page' or 'Save Image' the save dialogue window is nearly blank, then info bar shows 'not responding'. I have tried all the tips in the support pages. Resetting Firefox, Starting Firefox in 'Safe Mode'. Upgrading graphics driver to latest version. Turning off 'Hardware Acceleration' in options. Nothing resolves the problem. This issue has only recently started, the last time I tried saving an image it worked fine, certainly prior to Microsoft's most recent 'upgrade Tuesday'.

Edit: Checked the save dates of the last images I successfully saved from within Firefox and compared them to my windows update log. The Microsoft March 'Update Tuesday' was installed on March 14th. My last successfully saved Firefox images were saved the following day on March 15th. Thus it is unlikely that the Firefox saving issue is a result of a Windows Update corruption. So the question is what changes have Mozilla made to Firefox between 15th and 24th March 2014 ???

I have a dual-bootable Windows Vista SP2 system and Firefox has updated to 28 on both systems. Since the update most tabs reopen empty with label 'New Tab' and 'about:blank' in the address line when Firefox restarts. The tabs that do open correctly seem to be the ones that I actually visited in the prefious session. I can recover the missing tabs by using Session Manager to pick up an earlier session, but of course this doesn't pick up the tabs opened in later sessions. It seems that any tabs that I go to in the recovered session will be saved correctly, as noted above, but any that are not revisited in the course of using the recovered session will drop the URLS the next time I reopen Firefox.

I'm running FIrefox 28 on Ubuntu 14.04 I cannot get "Other Bookmarks" to appear on my bookmarks toolbar When I open the toolbar customization, I can put the Bookmarks button on my toolbar (or on the main navigatoin toolbar) but as soon as I leave customize, it simply disappears.

When I type in my Thunderbird email all characters are displayed properly. When I type in a web site using Firefox or Chrome the characters are displayed incorrectly. For instance: I'll type the same thing here. It will come out like this or a variant: 456 7890 -=qwe rtyu. If I do the same again it will be: iop []as dfgh jkl;' `\zx. What is going on? Bye the way I had to type this in Thunderbird and copy and paste into this web site. Also if I type in resident MS Word or Excel all is good. The problem is on web sites. Using Win7.

after updating adobe flash player to 13.0.0.182 version any live-streams channels on youtube suddenly stopped working. other videos from youtube are playing fine. i tried to deinstall and reinstalled flash player 3 times from newest version to previous and back, reset flash player's cache, reset mozilla to default settings. still doesn't work. i know that there is a problem with mac users but my operation system is Win 7

I followed the MS instructions for migrating my PC to Win 7 from WIN XP. I used Easy Transfer to save my settings to an external HD. After installing Win 7 as a custom install I used Easy Transfer per the instructions to transfer user accounts and settings back to my PC. I then began to reinstall my programs. When I reinstalled FireFox 28 the bookmarks were not complete. Many folders were in the bookmark list but the all of the urls that I saved in these folders were not there. I went to the external HD that I used for Easy Transfer but there is only one program listed that when I click on wants to do Easy Transfer again. I don't think I want to do that. How can I restore my bookmarks?

Just installed Firefox v28 on new machine running Windows 7 Home. Installation went smoothly and my browsing experience was as expected. Then I opened the Add-ons Manager to install the same extensions that I used on the old machine, but something's not right.

The pages display in an odd "text-only" format that scrolls down... and down... and down (screenshots). Navigation was frustrating because all subsequent pages were in the same odd format.

Then I went to the 'search all add-ons' box at top right of screen and entered the names of the extensions I wanted. The search-results page was still text-only but easier to navigate. However, any extension that I selected to install failed during the download (screenshot).

What I've tried so far: cleared all history, cookies, cache etc., closed Firefox, then rebooted machine. But the problem still exists.

I am using Firefox 28, Google search suggestions does not work since last month!

When I typed a "a" in the bar, it might happen one of the following consequences:

1. It sometimes showed a list of suggestion under the bar 2. It sometimes does not show a list of suggestion under the bar 3. It sometimes showed a list of suggestion under the bar then disappeared after a second...weird!

Anyone can help me?

As of Firefox 28 the plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types setting seems to be ignored. I had set it in previous versions so I could get audio/mpeg files to display a download notification instead of playing in-browser but as of the latest update it seems to make no difference.

First of all: Windows 7 Home Premium SP 1; 64-bit; Firefox v28.0 (JUST updated it). Already ran Norton Online Security & MalwareByte's Anti-Malware in a full scan, to no avail*.

   On with the problem: For a couple of months already, some sites in which I've browsed were displaying a bit odd, for example YouTube: the video thumbnails are greyed out and show no pictures (Flash Player & Java are updated) whatsoever, and also whenever I click to watch a video, I gotta reload the page for it to load.

I did some testing, got into Safe Mode, everything was fine. Checked my extensions: Boom. A foreign extension got into Mozilla: It's called BaseFlash.

I don't know where it came from, but I've only found out that it was this what was causing all the trouble, turns out I CAN Disable it and the problem goes away. Thing is, as soon as I restart Firefox it's still there, enabled. There's no remove option, as you'd expect from a third-party extension.

Now, I've already tried multiple ways to get it out: I obviously checked in Uninstall programs. Nothing.

• I did find something in MBAM, I deleted it and it did nothing. The extension is still present.

I tried accessing the application's path via about:config... but it's nowhere to be found. I even checked the Windows Registry. NOTHING! This thing's still in my Add-ons Manager tab, tho.

If anyone could lend me a hand over here, I'd appreciate it a lot. Thanks for your time, this was my first thread, so sorry if I didn't pull it together quite right.

I have been using Firefox on a Mac computer for a number of years and have been happy with it. I have recently gone to a different trading platform called Trademonster.com and am having issues with its operation. When I call Trademonster, they told me that my Firefox must allow pop-up windows to operate. I do notice that when I log on to Trademonster on Firefox, it does say ".. Firefox prevented 2 pop-up windows from opening". I have gone to Preferences and under Security entered trademonster.com as a site to have access but I am still getting the signal that Firefox is preventing popup windows from coming up on the trading platform. I cannot open the site,www. pgmusic.com,with IE8,Mozilla nor Google Chrome. I can open all other sites in my Favories or Bookmarks on my desktop running Win XP Home SP3. I have the same problem with my laptop with IE10 and Google Chrome that runs Win 8.The common thing is my Mobile Partner(HUAWEI) USB modem that I have to insert in either PC to connect to the Internet or check email. I have uninstall and re-installed its SW but still have the same problem.No problem with emails with gmail,OE or Mail.

I have the famous Youtube crashing issue, and have tried everything on the internet to fix it plus other tweaks. In the end nothing works, and I'm all out of ideas. All I want to know is who do I point the finger at: Firefox, Adobe, or Youtube? I've been using Firefox since release, but this problem is only a Firefox problem, and I'm sick of dealing with it. At the same time I don't want to give up Firefox because Adobe can't program or Youtube has bugs. I've never had any issues with Firefox like this... Sure along the way there has been bugs, but this is getting ridiculous...

Anyway, it would be great to know who is doing it wrong, so I can go s**t in their Cheerios, and let them know how I feel about their product.

If i hit the letter "A" repeatedly it will cycle through every letter, number, and symbol on the keyboard. It does not matter which key I hit this happens. (I am using a diffrent computer to type this)

I have uninstalled and reinstalled I have changed keyboards before i knew this was a FireFox only issue Windows 7 64bit Zone Alarm (Most recent updated last night 04-08-14) Merc Stealth Keyboard (Most recent Update Today 04-09-14) I am at a loss and this only happens in FireFox. Please HELP!!

on the drop down menu for firefox(in my bookmarks) I used to be able to customize firefox to change my themes. Now when I click on it, it only loads words, no pictures or thumb tabs to hover over or anything. When I click on the words, it does nothing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Java. What is going on? What else can I do to fix this. And I have Windows Vista, just in case you need to know. Thanks Sharon

I had to clean up Firefox because it kept crashing. Since then it will not open bookmarks in new tabs: it simply replaces the page I'm looking at. I'd like to be able to open multiple pages but I've tried everything in the trouble shooting pages and nothing has worked.
