Hello

I want to configure firefox 14.0.1 with default settings for all my users using a file mozilla.cfg But the command defaultPref () is not valid. I use pref () but then the user can not change the parameters

With Thunderbird 14.0, I have no problem, the command defautPref () can be used

Why?

Thank you

Firefox just updated itself to version 16.0.1. Now, when attempting to close multiple tabs, I get the "Confirm close" warning even though the "Warn me when closing multiple tabs" option is unchecked. I tried checking that option, confirming the change, then unchecking that option again & confirming the 2nd change, too. This has made no difference. Firefox is not obeying the option setting.

The problem didn't occur before the update to 16.0.1 but did occur in the first session afterwards & has persisted since.

I have tried all options under tools options advanced update and NONE of them disable automatic updates. Whichever one is selected, at some point Firefox will upgrade without getting user approval, which is complete and utter crap.

I have to maintain an application which must run on Firefox version 3.6, cannot be ported to any later version, and is only used to access the control application.

I'm sick and tired of having to uninstall and reinstall Firefox every time it goes in direct violation of my settings and updates itself automatically. Why even have a setting for this if hte setting is completely ineffectual?

Why is it that now for every new FF update a feature is removed?

With the latest release I can no longer "hover over" a link with my pointer to see what URL it is going to.

This is a very important feature and should never have been removed.

To FF programmers, STOP removing features! Please!

http://input.mozilla.org/en-US/feedback#sad: For several versions now (I think since 10) the password request doesn't come up until I'm done with, in this case, banking. In other words, Firefox let me sign in to the banking site and complete my transactions never once asking for the password. It wasn't until I quit Firefox that the boxed-in request for the password came up. I shudder to think what would happen if somebody (not necessarily bad or evil, but of course that) sat down in front of my computer and proceeded to launch Firefox, never once getting a password request until quitting. I imagine they would just walk away, (evil) deed accomplished. Is there another way to lock Firefox?

Firefox 12.0 in OS X 10.6.8 on MacBook Pro (model 5,1)

Submit Feedback in Firefox doesn't work! The only things blocked by Ghostery were WebTrends and New Relic, but when I unblocked them Submit still didn't work. Using Camino now to post this.

I recently stopped using the session manager feature of the Tab Mix Plus extension so I could use Firefox 13's Tabs on Demand feature. Since I made the switch, I've been having a strange problem. Usually (not always, but maybe 4 times out of 5) when I start Firefox, instead of displaying a normal browser window it displays a tiny blank window. The window is just wide enough for an icon and the min/max/close buttons. There are no toolbars or chrome of any kind (not even the Firefox menu). The window is resizable, but resizing it doesn't reveal any contents.

I can fix this by starting Firefox in Safe Mode (which properly restores all of my open tabs) and then restarting the browser, after which point it works normally until I have to restart it again. So nearly every time I open the browser I first have to open it in Safe Mode and then restart it.

I've tried disabling Tab Mix Plus (which I still use for other features), but that didn't help. I'm not sure which of my other extensions might be causing the problem. Has anyone else seen this issue? I'm stumped about what could be causing it. Thanks in advance for any help!

Since Firefox 14 came out on OSX I've been really annoyed by the Lion full screen. I don't exactly hate it but the problem is that the toolbars (awesome bar, bookmark bar etc.) no longer auto hide when in full screen on OSX Lion. Please tell me there is a fix on the way or some quick easy fix for this. I want my screen filled up again. So annoying when I view images.

I'm sticking with 13.0.1 until someone can offer a fix.

Thank you.

When I transfer over my favorites from Internet Explorer, not all of the favorites transfer over. Is there a limit on the number that can be moved over to Firefox? I see all my favorites in the My Favorites file, and on favorites when I open IE, but only half of them transfer over. Is there a cause for this? It is the same on both my machines using Vista and 7. Thank you. Ron

When I was using Firefox 3.x, I configured it to clear the list of downloaded files at exit. Now, I've "upgraded" to Firefox 7.0.1 and it's stopped doing it. Not only that, there doesn't seem to be a way to get that functionality back. Is there some setting I've missed, or have the Firefox devs decided that users don't need/want to have Firefox do this any more?

I just updated to the new version FF 13.0 and the new feature that uses the history to display the top most visited sites on the new tab is not working. When I open a new tab it is blank, I tried pulling a site from my bookmarks and letting it load and then opening a new tab and it did show up, but when I went to pin it, it disappeared.

I have been using the "pin as app tab" feature from the previous version, but would like to try the new feature with the new tab page.

The new JavaScript debugger in Firefox 15 closes immediately when I try to open it.

The Firefox application does not crash. Just the debugger.

Within a fraction of a second, the bottom of the screen shows and then closes a panel.

I tried disabling all extensions, but it didn't help.

I tried the "Reset Firefox" button, but it didn't help.

Issue is in Firefox 15.0.1 on Ubuntu Linux 12.04 on a Compaq Presario CQ62 that has an AMD processor.

My other Ubuntu 12.04 installation on a Macbook Pro does not have this issue.

I cannot believe that Firefox toots its horn as being security minded when the status bar has been completely removed. Expecting the user to click on screen links with NO IDEA what the actual link is - is foolhardy to say the least. Relying on a third party plugin to take this function over? Forget that! There's no information to say that the developers have corrected this yet so I can't tell if Firefox 6 is safe to download or if I'm wasting my time. Can you shed some light on this? Thanks
