I use an Asus RT-AC68U router with my home network. "View List" in the web GUI doesn't work in Firefox (it's up to date). The number of clients is listed, but clicking "View List" brings up only the headers for "All" and "By Interface"--neither option lists the clients. "Client Status" also reveals no listings, even after hitting "Refresh." This works perfectly in Chrome.

So far, I've ensured that all the MAC addresses of my devices are in capital letters (no lower case letters). I've tried clearing nvram. I've also separately both powered down/powered up the router and rebooted the router. I've downloaded and applied the latest firmware and reset the router several times. Each time I do that, "View List" works the first time I try it. Then it stops working again. I've tried it with the firewall off and with my antivirus off, to no avail.

If this were a firewall problem, I'm guessing Chrome wouldn't work, either, so I'm counting out a firewall issue. I've tried it in Firefox with all my add-ons disabled and it still doesn't work. The funny thing is that on my laptop, viewing the client list works in Firefox--but not in Firefox on my desktop. I'm guessing I should focus on Firefox on my desktop.

Could there be a Firefox setting I need to enable--or disable?

I've been having trouble staying signed into my homepage (MSN). Every time I close Firefox I get signed out so that when I open Firefox I have to sign in to my homepage again. My other sites are still signed in (yahoo, Facebook) It is only MSN. This is something I've been having trouble with for awhile. I did get it to work last month but I signed out to use another account and when I signed back into my usual account again it will no longer keep me signed in. All other browsers will keep me signed in and my other computers keep me signed into MSN using Firefox. I don't know how I got it to work last time. I've tried making a new Firefox Profile, Reinstalling Firefox, Clearing all Mozilla files including regedit files, Restarting my pc and doing a fresh install without connecting to my Firefox account still no luck. I'm at a loss. I think last time I did something with some cookies file splith? spilf? I don't remember what it's called or where I even read about it. I'm hoping someone can help me. I've had to start using Chrome again but I'd prefer to go back to my Firefox.

Hi all,

I updated firefox to version 48 today and to my dismay found that it is no longer possible to disable add-on signing, not even for specific addons.

For me this is a showstopper because I am using Firefox at work and I absolutely MUST be able to use the F5 Networks Host Plugin to access a legacy VPN. This plugin has no signature and there is no update provided (yet?) by the network I am connecting to.

This is reason enough for me to stop updating Firefox.

I have gone back to Firefox 47.0.1 which allows me to disable add-on verification and I'm sticking to that version unless someone can tell me there is another way?

Thanks

Everytime is open Mozilla Firefox, it opens 3 windows which it is supposed to do on first timers. When i change something in options, it changes back to default when i close the browser. It also automatically disables all add-ons i have installed. This has become a seriously annoying issue as this sometimes happens mid-browsing aswell. I can just casually sit on youtube, and suddenly ad-block is disabled, and a new window opens up where Firefox asks me to log in to my Firefox user, even if i already have.

Please help!

Hi, like I said in the title Firefox is constantly asking me to confirm addons installation over dans over. I'm currently on windows 10 and transferred my Firefox data from a mac if this helps. So I read a lot of topics about people having the same problem and here are the things I tried.

- deleting "extension.ini" and "extension.json" in the profile directory - uninstall and reinstall Firefox (including deleting the existing profile to install a "fresh" version of Firefox) - "Refreshing" Firefox twice (previous and new install). - creating a new profile with the Firefox profile manager - Disabling the Firefox checkbox in Firefox sync and installing them manually several times.

Thank you in advance

My Firefox plays any video on the web with one exception, it can't play any video on Howcast.com, absolutely none, I tried the safe mode, I tried refreshing it, I uninstalled Firefox completely and reinstalled it with no user profile, and it still can't play any video on that streaming site, this what I keep getting: PLAY BACK STREAM ERROR This video is not encoded for your device VLC plugin is enabled and it damn plays any streaming video on the web, period. I have every CODEX and FFmpeg in my computer, there is no such thing as a video I can't play, none, except on Howcast. Try play this video or any video in the site below, (it used to play with no problem prior to Firefox vs. 43 but no more, I can download it and play it on my computer but I can't view it on Howcast site: http://www.howcast.com/guides/444-Belly-Dancing-101/

For a few weeks I have been trying to fix an extremely slow Firefox, with slow respose to keys and to mouse, and some websites have taked a minute or more to connect (also trying to move the window with the mouse is jerky). It's unusable and I've had to resort to Internet Explorer, which has kept up to speed, as has everything else on the computer.

I've tried many supposed remedies found by internet search and on the Firefox support pages, including malware scans (all clean, apparently), safe mode, creating a new profile, etc.. And done a registry clean. I did find that after a System Restore it ran fast, but the next day (i.e. on restarting the computer) it ran slow again. Anyway, system restore is not a practical solution.

Finally I think the best situation to report is this. - if I run msconfig and tick Normal Startup, and then restart (without switching off), then firefox runs fast and everything is as it should be; this is true also with restored bookmarks and passwords, and all the add-ons and plug-ins allowed. - but if I restart after machine switchoff (and today just a menu restart without doing the msconfig thing), then Firefox reverts to slow again.

I can't make head or tail of why this is so. Can you advise? John Kilpatrick - Windows 10, HP desktop, Trend Micro Internet Security.

I'm running slackware 14.1.

I have /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so (Installed from alienbob's repo)

If I run firefox 38.8.0, it gets loaded

$ strace -e open /usr/bin/firefox 2>&1 | grep libflashplayer.so

open("/usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 48

But if I run firefox 47.0.1 it is not loaded.

$ strace -e open /usr/local/bin/firefox 2>&1 | grep libflashplayer.so

However, if I set MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH=/usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins, it works.

$ MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH=/usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins strace -e open /usr/local/lib/firefox 2>&1 | grep libflashplayer.so

open("/usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 44

38.8.0 is from the initial slackware install, and 47.0.1 is manually downloaded from mozilla.org, installed in /opt and symlinked to /usr/local/bin.

I've attached the "troubleshooting information" from 47.0.1.

How do I go about debugging this? Is this actually an issue, or is it just expected that I export MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH in my dotfiles?

In particular the ones marked in the accompanying screenshot. If I rename the main Profiles heading, Firefox simply creates a new one. Thanks!

Is there a way to change the default page size to a size I get by hitting "CNTRL +" a few times so I don't have to hit "CNTRL +" every time I look at a new page?

Some how I have this Safe Browser open when I open a new tab. I do not know where it came from, and I cannot seem to delete it.

I tried to go to uninstall a program, and I could not find them in my list of programs.

I have written the company about this issue. I do not know how it got on my computer, but I do not want it.

Yahoo is set as my homepage. I recently upgraded Firefox. Maybe it piggybacked when I did that. I just do not know, but I do know I do not want it.

If any one knows how to get rid of it, please let me know. Thanks!!

Today I've opened Firefox to find out it has been reset to it's default settings. This is a PC we use at work that recently had an issue with malware and adware and I had to remove several Add-Ons and other undesired settings they left (but the first reset occured automatically).

That being solved, I try to log in to Firefox Sync in order to restore my previous settings, bookmarks, etc. But now, when I try to access about:accounts it's just a blank page. The blue spinning wheel appears and it gets stuck there. I also attach a screenshot of Firefox's welcome screen after a second refresh I attempted to see if that solved the problem, which also shows the same loading icon.

I've already tried using Safe Mode without success. I've also performed a full scan of my PC and no other viruses were found.

Thanks in advance for any help.

So my firefox does a couple of weird things:

First, every time I start firefox, it seems to start up as if it the first time ever. I will ask me if I would like to import bookmarks from chrome or IE then ask if I would like to import the home pages.

Second, I cannot pin Firefox to my toolbar.

I am running on Windows 7 Enterprise. This is my work computer and I have local admin rights.

Adblock is the only extension I've got and it's disabled, but I have noticed that many ads which appear in IE are still not appearing in FF. Now I find some website content is also not appearing in FF (though working in IE), possibly because websites don't want you to see their content without seeing their ads - see screenshot of blank page from Inc.com. Is this a basic FF feature, or have I got a setting that's causing this problem?
