I got a new computer with Windows 10 and installed Firefox 40.0.2. Even with this fresh install, I've been experiencing a very frustrating number of crashes.

I can consistently trigger a crash by trying to inspect an element or by trying to install Firebug.

To resolve the issue I have tried:

- making sure that Adobe Flash/Shockwave is disabled - disabling the NoScript add-on - opening Firefox with a new, fresh profile (even though I did not import a profile from my old Windows 7 machine so the profile should have already been pretty "fresh")

Firefox has long been my default browser but I'm worried I'll need to abandon it! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I disliked Edge, so I got Firefox 40 for Windows 10 .... but now I can't see Twitch TV game broadcasts / videos. If I go back to Edge, then I can see Twitch broadcasts .... so I'm thinking I'm missing a PLUG-IN for Firefox that Edge has ?? Which one is it ?? Which plug-in do I need, and how do I fix Firefox.

I upgraded to Windows 10 yesterday. Since then, NO videos will play with Flash. It crashes every single time. It crashes virtually instantaneously. I updated Flash and all my plugins are now listed as Up To Date. Still it crashes every single time. Help.

I'm on a Mac network and many of us are getting "Secure Connection Failed: The page your are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified." This number of sites displaying this error is increasing. It was just Wikipedia.org at first, but now I cannot even access Mozilla.org! I have tried virtually all of the solutions that have worked for others to no avail, including:

- Uninstalling Firefox and installing version 40.0.2

- setting "security.tls.version.fallback-limit" to 0 or 1

- setting "security.tls.version.max" to 0 or 1

- disabling "security.ssl3.dhe_rsa_aes_128_sha" and "security.ssl3.dhe_rsa_aes_256_sha"

- Uninstalling and creating a new profile

- Verifying no plugins or add-ons are causing the issue

- Refreshing Firefox

And probably others that I cannot recall. I wish I could post more browser details, but can't because I can't get on Mozilla with Firefox. Please help and many thanks!

For two weeks now Firefox has been locking my computer. NOT on start but maybe 5 to 10 minutes after. I've followed the above troubleshooting/corrective actions and still have the problem. The computer does NOT lock up using Google Chrome. I prefer using Firefox, however. I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop, using Windows Vista 64 bit I am going to try creating a new profile and see if that works. If it doesn't, what would I need to do? Well it didn't. Any other suggestions. OR am I just going to have to us Google Chrome?

I want to watch Netflix and refuse to use a different Brwoser than Firefox. So Here's the problem: After correctly uninstalling silverlight and reinstalling it again, Netflix keeps giving me the notification that silverlight needs to be installed, although it is. I have uninstalled Firefox clean and installed it again. I went in the internet up and down and did everything, like the microsoft fixing tool, I checked if everything is up to date, I literally did everything! When I keep browsing for solution, I see that on some websites it advices me to check my addons -> Plugins and select silverlight. Now, I do remember seeing Silverlight there plenty times, but it isn't there anymore at all, it's completely missing! Please help me!

Yesterday my Firefox suddenly started showing strange boxes over various parts of every web page. For example, there are black boxes over the scroll bar. When viewing Facebook, there are little squares (black, grey, white) over the scroll bar, the little IM boxes at the bottom of the screen (the ones currently in use), etc. It seems a little better ont he Mozilla Support forum, but not at the bottom of the screen or on the Scroll bar. For the most part I can see most parts of every webpage. The scroll bar still works fine, as does IMing on FB, but the little boxes blink and are very annoying. So far I've tried to restart Firefox, checked to see if it's updated, but alas it's all as it should be. This is not happen when I use MS Word or Powerpoint, Safari, iTunes, other apps. Only with Firefox so I know it's a Firefox issue.

I Have a Macbook Pro 13 inch mid-2010 2.4 GhZ Intel Core Duo processor 4 GB. Running Mac OSX Yosemite. I've also uploaded an image. It's of the scroll bar on the edge of the FB page. I can try to get others if you want to see more examples. The squares tend to flash and change shape, so it's hard to get a good screen capture.

So recently I've had a problem with Firefox not connecting to the internet unless I quit and reopen the app. It happens like this: - I open Firefox and it works; - I lose the internet connection (e.g. I turn off my wifi, or my laptop goes to sleep); - I reconnect to the internet; - the open Firefox browser will not connect to anything and just keeps loading when I click on a link - I need to quit the Firefox app and restart it before it starts to work again.

This doesn't happen to my other browsers (Safari, Chrome), once I reconnect to the internet the open browser will just continue working without needing to be restarted.

It's not a big deal but it is a little inconvenient and I'd like to know if there's something I can do to fix it.

Just upgraded to Firefox 40, it doesn't allow me to view any Flash Shockwave based sites or plugins, anywhere on the net.

I've installed Shockwave player. All other browser work fine.

41 seems to be working fine. 39 works fine as well.

My firefox 40.0.2 keeps crashing and its becoming very annoying. Bellow is the most recent crash reports. Thank you for your help with this.

When i open firefox, all without change. Firefox can't reset, can't remove, can't wipe. I do not know how to make a new Firefox. My computer no Virus. I using : Avast Premier & Malwarebytes Anti-Malware so the virus can not be the case. I removed all Add-on on Firefox. And i use Windows 10.

Firefox is defaulting to saving all downloaded files in .PDF Format when the file is not a .PDF file. For example, if you goto this link http://usa.denon.com/us/product/hometheater/avreceiversht/avrx4100w Downloads Denon S Series - X Series RS232 IP Protocol 2014 The file being downloaded is a .xlsx. However, Firefox will only save it as a .pdf file. When you save and then try and open you get a corrupted PDF file. Of course it is not corrupted FireFox is defaulting to PDF.

How do you get Firefox to download a file and save in the actual format of the file?

Chrome does this with no extra settings or setup. Download and save the file in Chome it saves as .xlsx file.

I got a new windows10 laptop recently, installed firefox, and now firefox is saying "This Connection is Untrusted" with many sites, even the searchbar. I've noticed that if i google something straight from the searchbar it'll tell me "untrusted connection"; however if i were to remove the s from "https" then i'll be able to get to the site. Example: i googled 'hello', the address that turned up untrusted connection was "https://www.google.com/search?q=hello&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8", upon removing the s, i could get to the site, the site address became "https://www.google.com.sg/search?q=hello&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&safe=active&gws_rd=cr,ssl&ei=5u3TVevvNsnk0gSEiZ7QDg&safe=active". Yes, my date and time is set correctly. I am using AVG antivirus on Asus Zenbook. I've tried many solutions in the many forums including this support forum. Please help, it's really annoying me.

i never had any problems using Firefox before. but now every time i open a new tab, my pinned pages are gone. it now says:

The address isn't valid

The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded.

   Web addresses are usually written like http://www.example.com/
   Make sure that you're using forward slashes (i.e. /).

and when i try to open the options in the top right corner, it says the same thing.

i tried restarting Firefox with add-ons disabled, it is still not working.

everything works great, I'm browsing the internet just fine. its just the tab and the options that is not working. please help. thank you

Since a few days I cannot start Firefox. The process starts, but hangs with a fixed memory space and zero cpu usage, and the main window simply does not start. No crash report is created. Killing the process and try again is the only option.

I tried starting Firefox as Administrator, which does work (but is hardly recommended from a security perspective), and so does starting Firefox when Windows is in Safe Mode. Firefox also starts when the TrendMicro OfficeScan processes are stopped, but this is hardly a solution in a business environment, being admin on my machine is already a special case.

Periodically, in rare events, Firefox starts, but the next time the issue is back.

After trying several troubleshooting procedures, I have tried performing a clean install, to no avail: - Delete Mozilla folders from App Data (both Roaming and Local) - Uninstall Firefox - Delete possibly remaining Mozilla Firefox folder in Program Files (x86) - Run CCleaner - Restart - Re-install

Currently I'm looking into a procedure that would help me determine with certainty if OfficeScan is indeed guilty, and try to prove it to my IT service in order to get them to escalate to TrendMicro. Of course, if OfficeScan is not guilty, finding a solution would be perfect, too...

System information: - Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 - TrendMicro OfficeScan - Firefox latest release, 40.0.2 at the moment, from stub installer.

I can't drag tabs onto bookmark bar. I can't drag or rearrange my bookmark. I can't drag anything in Mozilla anymore after updating.

I can still drag tabs and bookmarks around in other browsers like Internet Explorer and Google Chrome, but not Mozilla.

I've tried unchecking Hardware Acceleration, resetting Firefox in Safe-mode, completely removing Firefox and reinstalling it, disable plugin, switching back to default theme, disable/removed extensions and rebooting my computer. However, nothing is working. I need help :( ...

EDIT: Okay, I've updated to Firefox 40.0.3. I still can't drag anything.

After receiving the upgrade to Firefox 40.0.2 only a white screen is displayed. It is not possible to change Firefox settings from the opening page because no text or graphics are displayed. This happened on two computers, an emachines T3624 and a Gateway-2000. I have tried a complete removal and new install using Synaptic Package Manager. I am writing this from the Chrome browser.

every time i open a new tab it tries to open a web page called "mystartsearch.com". this address stays there for a couple of seconds before my Virus program "McAfee - website security" takes over and says Warning trouble ahead Whoa!

also every time when I am using a legit web page and click on a link to refresh the page I am on I get a toolbar above the web page open and say "Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page. ALLOW X"

and another thing that happens is I get an error message everytime there is an update to firefox and the only way to update is to remove the current version and do a manual update. But unfortunately these errors continue to follow the updates. My AntiVirus software Mcafee says there are no viruses or threats on my pc but it is blocking suspicious incoming network connections from IP addresses 10.0.0.9, 10.0.0.121 , 204.79.197.200 , 125.56.183.54 and a few others, several times an hour every day

When I signed into my mail account, this tab also opened: http://fnvfox.appspot.com/thankyou.html I then clicked on home and the website indicated under "Question" opened. I question the address because I had an incident when someone hacked my PayPal account (and put charges on the account) and my Bell (Phone) account offering a freebie--both addresses where not kosher.
