Where are bookmarks stored?
Greetings,
I would like to backup my bookmarks. Which folders/files do I need to back up?
Thanks, Shane.

If you want to replace the bookmarks on the other computer with the bookmarks from your desktop, use the method in this link to backup the bookmarks to a file and then restore them on the other computer - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Backing+up+and+restoring+bookmarks
If you want to add the bookmarks from the desktop to those that already exist on the other computer, you need to export them to an HTML file, and import that file on the other computer. See these links for details:
https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Exporting+bookmarks+to+an+HTML+file https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Importing+Bookmarks+from+an+HTML+File
I want to do the second one - "add the bookmarks from the desktop to those that already exist on the other computer" The problem is that my Firefox is version 4.0. I read somewhere in the bookmarks topics that I should have done nothing before upgrading to version higher than 12. The thing is my computer is 8 years old and I have only 512 MB RAM. There is no way to upgrade more that v.4.0. My computer can not handle it.
Any suggestions? Can I export and import with v.4.0 safely?
There is page called "about:settings"or similar. I don't know, how is that written. could anyone say?
I can't get rid off AVG secure search, I uninstalled avg and it still shows up when I search from the navigation toolbar.

I've had Firefox 4 since the release date, but today it's been acting up - it's not loading certain webpages properly, removing all the formatting and just putting all the text/links/etc in a list along the left hand side of the window. It's also not showing some pictures at all any more, although they're all hosted on Photobucket. This is literally ther first time there's been a problem with it since updating, and I've not changed any settings on it at all, so I have no clue why it's suddenly broken. Is anyone else getting this?
I used to be able to refresh a page by hitting the F5 key. With 4.0.1, that does not seem to work. Is there a different keyboard shortcut, or can I create one?

Firefox tells me that a site has an invalid security certificate, which I know. It asks if I want to Add an Exception and I click to add one. It pops up the Add Security Exception window and that window tells me that this site has a valid certificate and there is no need to add an exception; but I DO need to add an exception and it won't do it for me. Why? I am working in a secure test lab and use Firefox to login to our systems under test. Each time we change or add hardware we must add exceptions to login to a system. I have done this for years with Firefox but now Firefox 4 seems confused. We now need to use EI, which I would rather not.
Where can I download older versions of Firefox?
I downloaded this program and it set my default tab page to some babylon thing, and it really annoys me. How do I change it?

After I click View/Full Screen on the Firefox menu bar, I lose the main FF Menu bar. When I hit the esc key, the screen remains locked in full screen view mode. Then I have to reboot my computer to get back to the default FF menu and display mode.
Why doesn't the esc key work the way it works when I'm viewing videos in full screen mode?
I need the place of cookies for Firefox 4, for a personal management of cookies.

The Yahoo toolbar simply appeared at start up the other day. I don't want it, won't use it, and want to get rid of it. The two suggestions on your Help didn't relate: Click on the "Pencil Menu"--what and where is that? Can't find anything that remotely appears to be a Pencil Menu. 2nd: Go to Tools, click on Extension--no such thing on my Tools menu anywhere.
Real help, please!

I have looked in \AppData\ for cached images. I took a printscreen image then cropped it, and I need the original to help a software company find a glaring error in their programming. Normally Windows puts temporary images into the \TEMP\ directory, but it's empty and I have not cleared the cache nor deleted files. Where can I look?
My firefox webpage is blocked. Startnow webpage is over the firefox webpage. It will not delete and i can't get rid of it.

When I point Firefox 4.0.1 to the Plugin Check page
<http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/>
It flags the following plugin as outdated:
Shockwave for Director Adobe Shockwave for Director Netscape plug-in, version 11.5.9
However, I have the latest version of Shockwave installed (11.5.9.620) installed. Reinstalling the plugin does not change how the Mozilla Firefox Plugin Check page sees that plugin.
