One of the reason for using firefox was its ability to be up and ready to use very quickly (I was one of the earliest users. )Now Google and dare I say it int explorer seem to have the edge

I would like to be able to save a bookmark in two locations without moving it from one folder to another if I already have that bookmark saved in some bookmark folder. I write many papers, and love to access different materials. Sometimes I end up using the same site for different papers, and so I would like to be able to do that quickly, without having to go into the bookmarks section, and manually doing it with copy/paste. I use Roboform constantly. I understand my version (7.x.x) is not supported yet in Firefox 7, but somehow the Firefox update was triggered in a moment of unconsciousness. Cannot find a way to restore Firefox 6 until compatibility issues are resolved. Can I do it?

Following instructions to import Favorites from Internet Explorer into Firefox, select History, all History, then import from another browser. Only Opera shows as an option. How do I get IE to display?

Working with LinuxMint 11 on Compaq laptop.

I can't think of any more details, but I used to have normal Firefox with a location bar, and now I don't. At the top of my page I have "most visited" and a tab bar. At the bottom I have "secure search". I'm having to get to all URLS by searching for them.

Every time the download manager opens Firefox freezes. It does this in safe mode with all addons and extensions turned off. It does not appear to report a crash in about:crashes. I have the most recent version of all addons, extensions, Windows, and Firefox. Once I restart Firefox the item will download fine as long as the download manager is not opened. If it is opened it will freeze without 1 second without fail.

I have the checkboxes in Options.security checked to block phishing and malware sites. But test pages are not blocked. How should I proceed?

Over the past 24 hours have been unable to open Firefox. Immediately upon trying to open Firefox crashes and tries to restart after I prompt it. Uninstalled and reinstalled with no success. Downloaded and installed again and received an indication that it did not install correctly. Selected option to try to reinstall with recommended settings and nothing further happened with the installation.

Upgraded to FF 8.0 Now, I can't even get FF to start. It crashes at startup, even when holding the SHIFT key down.

This has happened to me on 2 different computers - both Windows XP, SP3, with all updates applied.

my firefox stopped working sometime in spring this year (2011) after i have installed a windows update. I tried to uninstall and clean up (profile directories/registry) every time a new version was launched. Now i have FF 7.0.1 installed and it still crashes directly after the start. Same behavior in safe-mode and when i try to start the ProfileManager. I am forced to use Google Chrome now...

I guess the automatic upgrade happened last night (i hate that you auto upgrade btw) and now FF at work crashes every time I try to open it. I've had problems with FF ever since 7.0 came out. Please fix these problems because FF is almost unusable now :( So sad it is such a great program that has been ruined now
