Im In a difficult situation, I have updated firefox to the new version 2 weeks ago. This version disable my 'session manager' add ons, without my knowledge. Yesterday I closed my firefox with 150 tabs and shut it down, hoping that when I start firefox again today, and click on 'restore previous session' that my 150 tabs will appear before me like they normally do. Except what happened was that I opened firefox, the main page opened, and before I was able to click' restore previous session' and restore my 150 tabs, I accidentally closed the firefox window. I then reopened firefox again, and clicked 'restore previous session' and all it would do is open the main window, and all my 150 tabs are lost now. I thought i shouldnt worry, because I did see an article last year about how to restore the firefox session that existed before the previous session, and there was something in that article about a sessionstore,js file and a .bak file that needs to be renamed. I went to my Firefox Profile Folder, there I clicked on the 'Sessionstore-backups' folder, and found these files:

1.previous.jsonlz4 2.recovery.jsonlz4 3.recovery.baklz4 4. upgrade.jsonlz4-20171002220106 5. upgrade.jsonlz4-20171024165158 6. upgrade.jsonlz4-20171112125346

I saved a copy of these files in My documents, but I dont know what to do with these files, I tried to rename the .baklz4 file to sessionstore.js, but it didnt work, I tried renaming it to recovery.jsonlz4 but it still didnt work, It is 23rd november today and I have given up hope that I would be able to recover all 150 tabs from yesterday, but the file in point 6 which is called ' upgrade.jsonlz4-20171112125346' seems to be a backup file from 15th November, so I thought Id try and rename this file and recover my tabs from 15th November instead ( about 120 tabs in total). I have tried renaming this file to , recovery.jsonlz4, previous.jsonlz, session.jsonlz4, sessionstore.js, but everytime i restart firefox, it doesnt read this file, and gives me that one blank tab instead. Can anyone tell me how to restore the 15th November file and how to load the 120 tabs in that file please?

When I open a new tab, instead of my home page (google.com) I get a bing search page. I do not get the "top sites" as I do on my other computers. I have checked them to see if I could mimic, but no luck. In the article about removing unwanted pages, the article shows a screen shot of a button in the shape of a square with little dots making the square shape. The article says to click that button and then reset my tab. My new tab pages do not have that button. It shows the down arrow for downloads and the home button for home page. I've looked in the add-on manager and the bing toolbar is not there. I've also gone through the Tools/Options and can find nothing there to get rid of the bing toolbar. My homepage is set to google.com in the options. Also followed the steps for about:config and after making the change, new tabs still come up with bing (and its ads). What do I do to get my home page to display? Thanks

we have firefox esr version which we use in kiosk mode. we want to disable navigation bar but should be able to open multiple tabs and access them.

Now problem is : once i enable tabs and navbar is hidden. then we are not able to access next/previous tabs. key shortcut (Ctrl+tab or Ctrl+shift+tab) doesn't work. so we can not see another tab.

once i show navbar/tabs then address bar/search bar is also visible which we don't want.

Our requirement is to see multiple tabs with no address/search bar. Please provide help on how we can go to solve this.

I have my browser set to restore the previous session when I open Firefox, and new tabs to open blank. With these settings, I used to be able to open new windows and have my homepage load, while keeping the behaviors previously mentioned intact, but when I open a new window now, I get a blank page.

Is there any way to restore the previous behavior, or are all tabs now seen as the same now, whether they're opened as part of new windows or existing windows?

I installed Divx and accidentally clicked "please make Bing.com my default browser".

Now I have an issue that every time I open a new tab it defaults to bing.com.

I have uninstalled divx, started firefox in fail safe mode (no plugins or extensions), and I have changed about:config values: browser.newtab.url = about:newtab browser.startup.homepage;about:newtab = about:newtab and the problem still persists!

How do I get back to my normal newtab format?

Everything except the web page disappears, which I do not want to happen. I can get the address bar and tabs back by hovering at the top of the page, but they disappear again really quickly and it takes some care to reach the back and forward buttons, or to click on the address bar and type in a new URL, or to click to open a new tab. It is driving me nuts. I haven't reset preferences or anything so I can't imagine why this would happen. There is no menu bar, so I can't find a way to look at and change my preferences. The bar along the bottom, which tells me what else is going on in the computer and the time, is also gone, which is annoying. That doesn't come back when I hover at the bottom of the page. So I have to alt+tab to get around. I only installed Firefox on this machine a couple of weeks ago. I'd be grateful for advice, thanks!

I am still not able to figure how to get to the Firefox general page. I do have a menu bar but nothing there helps me. One of the answers to my previous (which I am still trying to complete) talked about the Firefox menu button but I can't figure out what it is, where it is and what do I do if I don't

Whenever I browse on Firefox and click on a link it opens in a new tab, I want it to open in the same tab. Is that possible? Because every time I open up a link, then my tabs gets longer, like ten in one window.

I have checked through my add-ons and can't find the solution. I've read answers that state go to the about: config. I can't find that either. I simply want my most visited sites upon opening a new tab feature restored. Help, please.

When I open Firefox in a new tab, I would like to have it open to a page of my choice. Right now, it seems there is no way to change that, but previous versions had this feature, and I put my computer to "google.com" for example, so I could be ready to search, whenever I pressed "command-T" (for new tab.) Are we stuck on Yahoo, now, or whatever Firefox chooses for new tabs, or is there a way to change this?

Can anyone supply updated code for the userChrome.css for restoring Tabs to below Menu bar, Location bar, and Personal Toolbar? The code below was working until I upgraded to 65.0.

I ask the help of you to remove the software v9 Firefox browser. I've tried various actions in an attempt to remove it, but without success. I'm seriously considering uninstalling Mozilla Firefox and use another browser. But I think there is a solution and I am appealing to you to get this help.

So I have seen this question posted before but the author decided to just switch version, which is not exactly a future proof solution

So Firefox changed the way ctrl-tab works to display the last tab used, and while I don't think this is a bad idea, I'm just very used to quick switching by mashing ctrl-tab/ctrl-shift-tab, and I don't really want to try and remember the exact order I used my many tabs to navigate between them.

Isn't there somewhere where I could toggle this ?
