I'm in one zip code and I'm looking at prices of things closer to where I live, but Firefox tells my my home zip code is invalid? USPS delivers mail to my house using that zip code, my home zip code shows up on the national zip code map, how can it be invalid?

Why are we not allowed to shop in a different zip code?

I updated to the latest version of Mozilla, once I got the new update, all my bookmarks have disappeared. I followed the instructions to restore the bookmarks but the browser was unable to do this. I also feel that the new browser layout is not user friendly compared to your competitors. I cant see how to easily add the current link to my bookmarks. Competitors such as chrome or edge etc have a simple 'favorites star that simply needs to be clicked, its easily located and straight forward.

I have used this browser as my main browser at work for the last 2 years, so you can imagine how frustrating losing the book marks is.

Any chance of the question being answered accurately?

I need to access my browser history to prove a timestamp. I only need to prove a timestamp from less than 24 hours ago but the history page shows absolutely nothing. A completely blank screen. I am not on incognito mode and my recently closed tabs are all correct which shows that there is history being taken of my browsing. Why is my history not showing? I need to see my history to prove that I followed due date of an assignment.

I downloaded firefox 49.0.2 due to some programs i have to run not working on the updated version. (changing laptops, i downloaded on another laptop 6-12 months ago without the issue) unable to add bookmarks, ran through all the troubleshooting ideas & none seemed to work. tried everything i could think of but nothing seems to work, uninstalling & reinstalling, restarting firefox, restarting comp, running in safe mode to rule out add ons etc

Does anyone have any suggestions as its rather annoying without bookmarks?

Thanks

The hard drive my firefox browser was on became corrupted and I can access nothing that was on it. I downloaded and installed firefox to another hard drive. None of the "restore" dates for my bookmarks will work. I think my back up file of the bookmarks was on the same hardrive that is corrupted. Is there any way to recover my bookmarks?

That computer does not support windows xp and won't open emails so told if I load 52ESR (not higher/quantum) that it will support it. If correct, how can I get it on a drive to put on another computer. I don't want it to download onto this alternate computer as it will likely mess it up. Appreciate any help. Thanks.

Hello, I have been using Firefox as my main browser for years. Today I had to install the new version to install a program for a video interview and I did that on an application I called FIREFOX 2. I closed the old version with all my history and bookmarked sites, and password, and logins, and accounts. I also had a very important ongoing session and thought I could just reopen the app and as I always do select RESTORE PREVIOUS SESSION. Now it seems like I have lost everything, I open firefox and it looks like it's something I ve never used before, although right now I'm using the old version 49.0.1. How do I solve this how do I get my open tabs back, my history, my bookmarked websites....

[Mac OS 10.13.2, Nightly 49.0.1]

I have locked in Nightly 49 on my computer stopped tracking new FF releases primarily due to the fact that the developers of MY essential addons have given up keeping-up with the Mozilla's release schedule and addon signing policies. I've been using FF without signed addons for a decade and am not interested in giving up my browser capabilities nor changing my workflows for the sake of the security phantom.

I like "Download Flash and Video" (DLV) and have been using it for years now, but recently v2.10, the last version to support pre-FF57 releases of FF, stopped working with YouTube. This probably has something to do with recent changes on their site, though I'm not sure.

Since I do not have the option to upgrade to a more recent version of DLV. This is a call-out to the guys at "fnvfox.com": Would it be possible to fix the problem and release 2.11?

Firefox is continuing to crash, be slow, show a black screen, and completely go white and not respond. This is effecting multiple computers. The issue started December 2, 2017. Slowly more PCs become effected. There have been no windows updates, hardware changes, or any other changes made. The PCs are not showing any viruses after being scanned. Upgrading to version ESR 52.4.1 from ESR 45.9.0 has not made a difference. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to this. These are Windows 10 PCs.

Here are two crash reports from one PC:

bp-cfc37028-a33a-4e4d-a868-db5861171205 bp-c235e2e9-2f01-4c40-b6e1-7ad891171204

And four from another PC:

bp-f7f50f3e-7a14-440c-b6f6-b25151171204 bp-4edebd8b-eca5-4e00-bc05-a0c751171204 bp-43bb8c72-2570-4a52-8a35-4de0a1171204 bp-3153e18c-6298-4698-95e1-8b0781171204

These are all the reports from each PC.

Please help to shed some light on the cause and solution to this. Also, let me know if more information is required.

Thank you.

After having been a dedicated FireFox user for well over 10 years, its time to call it quits. This is a final good-bye, and to all the apologists who may wish to engage me in debating why I feel the way I do, enjoy wasting your time.

The move to the 6 weekly roll-out cycle has been the worst thing that has happened to this once great application. Whist new features (refresh button on the right, only to be superseded by refresh on the left... ) are being rolled out, not much stuff that was broken from previous iterations was ever fixed. Flash and YouTube still has issues playing videos, memory consumption is still keeping up with the Voyager space mission, address bar cannot remember what the last address was in some cases, nor can it correctly match what you typed versus the history list, bookmark organisation is a shamble, addon developers are getting worn out with the constant churn in the FireFox's version numbers and the ever changing code base (API), and now with the "Requirement" to have addon's signed, some have stopped producing their products altogether.

FF has become a project that is out of control, lost focus, and forgot who made it great in the first place (original team and welcoming user base). [I know this is a broad brush with which to paint, but I have no knowledge of the internal workings of Mozilla.] If you're really concerned with the User's security, why not fix XSS and REALLY prevent 3'rd party cookies, not supply some BS "Private Browsing" tab? Why should I rely on 3rd party apps for these features?

Why am I in this frame of mind you may ask?

On my MAC, I made the mistake today of trying Nightly v58, only to find that it retrospectively, and irreversibly stuffed up a bunch of really important addons that I've been curating in Nightly's v49. ( I was expecting v58 to run as a separate APP from v49, as it was NOT an UPDATE, but v58 took it upon itself to "manage MY computer" for me!!!!! (I could add more exclamations here to demonstrate how unhappy I am, but I think the reader will get the message.) It updated some of my addons, disabled others, and now I have a mountain of work to backtrack.

After years of FEELING like coming here for a final whine, today was the final straw. Sadly there isn't much choice when it comes to browsers that really protect the user's interest, and once a reputation is lost, it is impossible to recover. I still have a very nice FF35 on my Windows machine, and won't go near any version after it! It looks like I need to apply the same policy with regards to my Mac.

It's just too hard to use/keep up with FireFox. So, after so many years of pent up frustrations, it's time to say "Thanks, not no thanks!"

I have a Java applet running in a very old version of Firefox that will need to be replaced once we upgrade to the newest version. This applet opens a TCP/IP socket to a daemon running on the local system, which then communicates with a hardware device connected to a serial port. The device sends encrypted data thru the socket which is decrypted by the applet. The applet uses Javascript to update the webpage, and can send and receive real-time data to/from the user which is eventually submitted back to the web server. I haven't been able to find any technique for accomplishing this same task without using an applet. Any advice on how to achieve this would be greatly appreciated.
