I use Firefox Quantum Version 60.0.2 64 Bit on a Windows Server 2008 R2 complete patched with the Role Remoteserver.
If I use Firefox to open a website on the Internet or a website on the LAN, nothing happens. IE loads both pages on the same machine.
I can see with process monitor from sysinternals that the firefox.exe does not even try to generate traffic to the destination IP.
I have uninstalled the Firefox, deleted all related folders and registry entries. I cleaned about:support Firefox. I have disabled all security features on the machine like GPO, antivirus, firewall, proxy. Nothing happens! The firefox does not even try to open a website.
Is there a logfile somewhere? What can I do to make the firefox work?

I am trying to connect to a website called BookFunnel. They just emailed me and said that when they look for me on their site, it shows that I am "Yahoo Slurp". I don't know what that is or why Firefox is doing that. How do I stop it so that it will reveal Firefox as my browser and let me access this website. This is apparently the only website at this time that it is doing it on.

Firefox on Ubuntu crashes on start and can not be started by any means.
Quiting firefox does not resolve the issue. Re-starting firefox does not resolve the issue. Running firefox from the command line does not resolve the issue.
Have tried sudo apt-get remove, purge, etc. and installed over and FF continues to crash on start.

Firefox automatically updated itself and installed "Firefox Quantum" 60.0.2 I see - 64 bit - on Windows 10 on a Dell laptop.
Never had this problem before - but when loading Ebay pages, the main body of the advert page fails to load and the full message I get instead is below - I've tried switching the proxy settings to "No proxy" or "Use system settings" and sometimes page loads correctly once but then it fails again! Have cleared cache/cookies, have refreshed, have restarted ...
Very frustrating and this is about to lead me to give up finally on Firefox and move to Chrome.

Ever since upgrading to the new Firefox Quantum, I get the dreaded "firefox.exe has stopped working" error. It use to only happen every couple days and now it happens multiple times a day. I had to start using another browser to keep my sanity. I hope someone can help me out because I love Firefox and have no desire to use anything else.
My crash reports always show "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_EXEC" as the reason.
As far as I can tell, all of my drivers are up to date. I know for sure that my iGPU and dGPU are current. I'm running Win 10.

Hello. I've got a weird issue on Firefox... well, besides the massive amounts of RAM it devours for no apparent reason. (Don't tell me to go to Settings>General>Performance and limit the content process limit... I've already done that!) Since the last two or three updates, it will operate fine for some time and then, when I click on the "View history, saved bookmarks and more" button, I will find a blank space under "Recent Highlights". (I attached an image with that.) Also, if I try to bookmark something by clicking on the star that's on the address bar, nothing will happen. No "Page Bookmarked" dialogue window will appear. If I, however, will right-click on a page and bookmark it using that star (from the right-click dialogue box), it will work and I will find the bookmark saved, in the list. The history will also be recorded.
However, after I close the program (which cannot happen WITHOUT CRASHING itself... Out of ten Firefox closures, 9 are with CRASHES and followed by a Mozilla Crash Reporter. As I mentioned, massive amounts of RAM are devoured and it takes a couple of minutes till it closes and disappears from Windows' task manager.), I cannot find ANY history or bookmarks in the list that were added SINCE IT STARTED DOING THAT (missing "Recent Highlights" and refusing to bookmark pages from the star above). Bookmarks and history items that were added BEFORE that event/bug occurs are there, in the list. Before I close the program, history items and bookmarks that were added AFTER the bug starts ARE ALSO THERE, in the lists. However, after I close the program and open it again, they disappear. I hope you understand from my description.
I also have to mention that this thing happens since the middle of May, or since two or three recent updates.
Now... I have to admit that I have many tabs opened, but they are UNLOADED. I only work with a couple of tabs loaded, so this constant thirst for RAM is kind of unjustified unless Firefox was programmed using inefficient algorithms that waste resources. When I freshly open the program (with those many tabs that are unloaded, from the previous session), no huge amounts of RAM will be taken... it adds up as I'm browsing. I will watch many videos on websites like YouTube and then I will close them, keeping only one tab with a video loaded. The memory should be released after I close them, right? Well, it isn't. It keeps increasing until my system becomes unusable.
I always used Firefox and I love it, but if that's the case and it's inefficiently or poorly designed in terms of algorithms, programming and implementations, then I'll have to switch to another browser. Bookmarks and browsing history mean everything to me and to a good browsing experience. Unlike other people, I want to KEEP history, not to delete it, and when the system makes it hard to keep or to record them, it's bad and it ruins everything! This bug needs to be solved.
I also have to mention that all my extensions and add-ons are disabled, and it still happens. Also, the RAM thing is old. Firefox always took huge amounts of RAM that added up and clogged the system, and I use it since many years.

I had many tabs open at once in only one window. My disk came to 0 bytes of free space and the browser closed suddenly after some time. Even before freeing up space, I could reopen it and even restore my session. After deleting the folder /var/cache and restarting the OS, Firefox just wouldn't open, it just crashes, offer the option to quit or restart but clicking restart just makes the Mozilla Crash Reporter to open again.

This morning Firefox upgraded its self. Since then I've not been able to click on links in e-mail to open up web pages. Every time I manually launch Firefox it asks me if I want to make make it my default browser. I reply Yes, so it asks me which account (my or the Administrator) I want to use. It does not appear to make any difference as Firefox does not become my default browser.
In increasing levels of desperation I've tried:
- Tools | Options | Make Default
- Rebooting the PC
- Deleting my Firefox Profile
- Reinstalling the latest version of Firefox
- Reinstalling an old version of Firefox
No luck. Following other threads in this forum I've selected Start -> Control Panel -> Default Programs -> Set Default programs
Firefox is not listed.

I manually installed Firefox Quantum (60.0.2) from the tarball. After unpacking, I copied all the files to /opt/firefox. Now the application icon doesn't show up in the Launcher or Taskbar when I launch FF. How do I get it to appear? I can find a few versions of firefox.png on the system - I assume it's just a matter of getting the icon into the right folder. But which one? I'm running CentOS 7 with the default desktop and theme, etc.

iMac running 10.13.4 (17E202)
Uninstalled old Firefox by dragging to trash.
Downloaded latest Firefox from Mozilla site.
When I click new install to open, a window launches, but nothing else happens but a continuous spinning wheel. Eventually, nothing for it but to force quit (and force quit window confirms Firefox is "not responding").
What should I do?

In the past weeks, suddenly my Firefox started behaving really weird - a few times a day the currently opened tab becomes unresponsive (you can't click or hover anything) but you can still scroll through them (at least a bit - after that point, it's just plain white). At these times, the cursor is the hand one, during the whole unresponsiveness episode, as if everything was clickable (though obviously clicking does nothing). You also can't close the tab during this tab - the only way is either to wait a good 30 seconds for it to unfreeze or to change to a different tab and close the unresponsive one. When you do change tabs, though, the newly opened tab sometimes disappears completely, with a radial loading circle appearing in the middle of the screen for a few seconds before it magically reappears (it does _not_ reload, though!). From what I've been able to observe, this tends to appear on content-heavy websites like Reddit, Facebook and YouTube most often.
What is happening? I haven't changed my browsing habits in the past weeks, nor have I installed any new add-ons. I've tried disabling the ones I have but it's still happening with them turned off. What else may I try?

It looks like that despite being 64-bit "browser.cache.disk.capacity" is still limited to 4 GB. So I was wondering if it will be possible to update 64-bit version to support cache size over 4 GB?
It is possible to set / modify the value of "browser.cache.disk.capacity" in "about:config" to be over 4,194,303, but it won't work, as browser will stop caching altogether.

My old harddrive seems to be fried, I set up a new one and tried to log into Firefox sync.
I got the password wrong several times but at last today it seems I got it right and the next page was prompted including something like this "We send you an Authorisation Code to your Email, please tipe that in".
I received the Email and tiped the Code in but then was prompted to a page looking exactly like the login window and telling me "invalid password".
I repeated that process four times in case i got the code wrong, copy pasted the last Code and now I can't even get to that step anymore it always says "invalid passord".
Can somebody help, I really can't loose all my favourite saved sites and it seems that would happen if I reset my password.

So all Russian users at now can't use Firefox Sync (accounts.firefox.com) and other Mozilla cloud services.
Can Mozilla provide mirror or proxy for accounts.firefox.com website and other services in new IP subnet, that not blocked in Russia?
For Russian users: Роскомнадзор (РКН) заблокировал в России доступ к синхронизации Mozilla Firefox поэтому сайты accounts.firefox.com, firefoxusercontent.com, sync.services.mozilla.com не открываются у многих русских провайдеров (Ростелеком, Мегамакс, Virgin Connect и т.п.)

Hi : )
I love Firefox, and I find it simply excellent. But...
in the last months Im having lots of FREQUENT crashes. I dont know why.
it often crashes (even 20-30 times a day), mostly with an empty page (#argh this page was closed), sometimes the program closes by itself, I restart it, it goes for some minutes or even less, and the the problems are back again.
I tried many solutions: I reinstalled it, I tried the safe modus (it crashes thesame way), disinstalled all the plug ins. disintalled the firefox accelerator. tried windows10 compatibility solutions, I created a new profile. i have the latest version, of course.
I have these issues ONLY with firefox. maybe is the 64 bits version? my laptop is 2 year old.
it does not get any better with the above solutions.
below the copy of a mozilla crash report (there are many I just picked one)
could you please help? what can i Do?
thanks a lot merlino
