there was a video update for firefox and i installed it and now when i start firefox other windows start as well for example ,bogabids,poker, fix your windows 7....this did not happen before the update please help.

This seems like Firefox is restoring your last session (if these are sites you have been to), or some software on your machine is causing these to open. The software could be a virus, or it could be due to some advertising that came with another product (such as toolbars that are set to be installed by default when installing unrelated software - there is almost always an option not to install them but a lot of people miss these). If you installed Firefox through a website other than official Mozilla websites then it is possible you downloaded a bugged version (which could be tracking your keystrokes and stealing personal information) and I suggest you uninstall it and install Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/. You should then probably get your files scanned for viruses and the like.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

I gave you all the information to do this in my previous post. Go to about:support (like you are going to a website) and click Copy raw data to clipboard and paste it here.


You will also need to scan for malware using the following free software, You will need to use them all as they scan for different types of malware.


You should also try to see if the problem still exists in Safe Mode. You can get into safe mode by doing the following:

  • Click the orange Firefox button, go to Help, then click Restart with add-ons disabled and Click Start in Safe Mode when the dialog box comes up

i have found the button for the copy the raw data to clip board but now i don't know where it is.

Okay, let's back up here and go one step at a time...
All you have to do is click the button that says' 'Copy raw data to clipboard
Then you come back to this site (click this link ---> https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/994702 ) right click the text box and click Paste. Finally click Post Reply to send your troubleshooting information.

No, you are already on the latest version of Flash. That's a pop up with malicious intent. There is no need to add a screenshot.

Try Resetting Firefox if all the tests come back negative!
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions and some Preferences.

  • Open websites will not be saved in Firefox versions lower than 25.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
