I was trying to logon to www.hsbc.co.in when I got this message. I have successfully logged in to this website before from Firefox so I don't understand what is happening.

hello Mayoite, please try to reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks & passwords) and see if this can address the problem: Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

This can be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that are blocked (check the permissions on the about:permissions page).

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

It is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted if clearing cookies doesn't work.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookies files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

Make sure that you aren't blocking the referrer.

See:

Try to delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.

I posted a question about this on June 30 and can't find my question to see if there are any answers. How am I supposed to find my question. I had no cookies blocked and this never happened before. I think it is Yahoo's fault. The only way I could get to my Yahoo group was to go to Yahoo's home page and navigate to my group and once I did that, I could get into my groups. I think Yahoo wants to force everyone to their home page so they can show them ads before they get to their group. I suppose I will never see a reply tlo this because there seems to be no way to locate a post you made previously.  :(((
