Bookmark https://www.icloud.com/# no longer works
For some reason this bookmark stopped working several days ago. It works fine on other browsers. I think it's some security setting or something. Can anyone help?

If you type or paste the URL into the address bar and press Enter, does it work that way?
If not, when you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
- right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
- Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
If a bookmark is not longer working then try to navigate to the page starting with the home page of the site as it is possible that something has changed.
A link that ends with a '#' usually indicates that some JavaScript in involved in processing data and there might be POST data send with the bookmark that is no longer valid.
You can try to create a new bookmark to that page.
I've tried typing in the URL by hand, but it still is being blocked for unsecure data. I can't turn that off, it keeps coming back and the site keeps failing. It works fine in Chrome, so I think it's a Mozilla setting.
I've cleared the cache and cookies, but it still gives me the "shield" icon in front of the URL that it is blocking the site. When disable that to allow the site, it doesn't work.
Shield icon! That's really useful to know. That is the sign that Firefox detected non-secured content in a secure page. This article describes it in more detail: Mixed content blocking in Firefox
The strange thing is, I'm not getting that icon when I visit the page. Is it because I'm not logged in??
I wonder whether one of your add-ons might be injecting non-secure content into the page. Could you test the page in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset)

Success! The site comes up fine in safe mode. But I'm not sure what to edit or turn off in Add-ons.
If you like, you can post a list of your extensions. The quickest way to gather the list is as follows.
In a new tab, open the Troubleshooting Information page using either:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information
- type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
In the upper left corner, click "Copy text to clipboard". Then you can paste into a reply. The Extensions list ends and then it says "Important Modified Preferences" so you can find that and delete everything from there on down.

Sorry to say it, but you have some extensions considered to be annoying or malicious. Probably they are affecting the security of iCloud by injecting ads into the page, or something worse. I recommend disabling everything you do not know to be useful. In particular, these are bad:
- ScorpionSaver
- SQLlite Addon
- StartNow Toolbar
- Tube Dimmer
Go ahead and disable ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a
- orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable.
Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Also, please:
- Run some supplemental malware scans. This support article lists tools that have proven useful to other Firefox users: Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware.
- Check the Windows Control Panel > Uninstall a Program and sort by the install date to see whether you have more "tag along" programs that installed at the same time as something you actually wanted.
- Remove the user.js file that may override your Firefox settings changes. This article has the steps: How to fix preferences that won't save.
That was it!!! As soon as I got rid of the 4 newest add-ons (Scorpion, etc.) the web site comes up fine. Thanks for cluing me in about Add-ons. Very helpful!!!

Did Tube Dimmer re-enable or reinstall itself? That could indicate you have external malware running that you have not effectively cleaned out.
Based on past threads about Websteroids / Scorpion / Tube Dimmer, you might find the malware in this hidden folder:
C:\ProgramData\Updater
If Windows won't let you delete an .exe file in that folder, you may need to kill the corresponding process in the Windows Task Manager. In some cases, it's easier to restart Windows in Windows Safe Mode and then run your cleanup programs (download those first using the links in the support article I linked earlier).
Operator error. I misunderstood the ADBLOCK filters filter "out" websites. I thought the filter was to allow websites. Thanks for quick response, though.
By the way, I'm not sure you want this customization:
browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes: 100
This governs how many failed session restores Firefox will try before switching to the screen offering you the option to only restore particular windows and tabs. Personally, I set this to 0 so I always get that choice after a crash. The default value is 1.

Hi michael0830, you need to use the about:config preferences editor. If you've never done this before, the setting might have been changed by external software or one of your add-ons.
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste sess and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes preference and enter 0 (that's a zero) and click OK
If the change works but at the next startup is back to some other value, it may be due to the user.js file in your personal Firefox settings folder (your Firefox profile folder). This article describes how to track down and remove the file: How to fix preferences that won't save. If you find user without the .js extension, Windows may be hiding file extensions. See this Microsoft support article for how to turn on the display of file extensions: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/865219.
Good insctructions. I reset ther value from 100 to 0. Restarted Firefox and it stayed 0. Thank you very much.
Tube Dimmer has been re-installing itself. Does that mean I'm infected with Malware?

Hi michael0830, something must be putting Tube Dimmer back in Firefox... and it's not you or me, so malware is definitely the logical culprit. Could you check for the hidden folder I mentioned in this post: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/979477#answer-509700
I went into Control Panel and removed Tube Dimmer yesterday and it hasn't reappeared, plus Firefox been working fine ever since. Many thanks for the help!!
