why don't i immediately go to a search page when i open firefox

when I click on firefox i have to click file to open a search page. It used to take me there immediately

Is a blank tab displayed, or is the main body of the Firefox window missing completely?

Could you check your start-up / home page setting and see whether it has changed from what you had before?

Firefox menu > Preferences > General > "When Firefox starts"...
