Things shouldn't be displaying in Arial Black. I did not change settings. Have reset Firefox and didn't work.

I would do a fresh install of Firefox. You can check it out here: Uninstall Firefox

Make sure you put a check mark in the box that says Remove my Firefox personal data when it comes up.

Hope this helps!

Hi all, if you remove your personal data, you will lose all your bookmarks, so that is not the preferred solution, particularly if you do not make regular backups to external media or the cloud.

shellezechar, have you noticed any other oddities with the display of websites?

I can't tell from your "More system details" but you might be using the graphics hardware acceleration feature. Try disabling it.

You usually need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).

orange Firefox button or classic Tools menu > Options > Advanced

On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"

If you restart Firefox, is the issue resolved?

This can be a problem with the font that is used to display the text.

You can do a font test to see if you can identify corrupted font(s).

You can try different default fonts and disable website fonts as a test.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced

Hi all, I am also facing the same problem, however this is not restricted to Firefox browser but any other browser i. e. Internet explorer and Pale moon etc except Google Chrome.

Type any query in search window of google accross all the browsers and you will find fonts have changed to ariel black which looks so ugly /misplaced and site like msn http://in.msn.com/?ar=1 also renders same fonts (ariel black), again this is may not pertain to system problem as notepad or wordpad are rendering lucida consol regular.

Hi raju02.

Did you check your fonts to see if you can identify corrupted fonts as this is the most likely cause of such issues?

Hi cor-el,

Where can I check or how can I check that my fonts are corrupted?

Hi raju02,

See my reply a few posts up in this thread.

Try to refresh the font registry by reinstalling corrupted fonts.
Open Control Panel > Fonts
Choose > File > Install new Font
Browse to the C:\windows\fonts folder
Click "Select All" to select all fonts or select only specific fonts that you want to refresh
Click Install to install and refresh all selected fonts.
You can press the Alt key and click the Yes button to confirm that you want to replace the fonts.

Hi cor-el

Thank you very much.

Your above solution works like charm and I can now experiance surfing on net with extreme satisfaction. I actually had lost all my hopes that it will possible that I could experiance my web surfing like earlier days.

Anyway, I don't remember how and when my fonts got corrupted, can you tell possibilities for changing fonts?

I am having the same problem but the solutions don't work for me because when I go to the fonts page I don't get any of the options described. There is no install option visible or when I click or right click. The only options I get are hide/show, delete and view.

Someone please help, it just seems so odd that my fonts changed on everything and I cant change them back.

Hi Moose672, which version of Windows are you running, or are you running a different OS?

Did the problem start out of the blue, or after a Firefox update, or perhaps after installing some other software on your PC?

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium and as far as I know I hadn't installed any software. I believe there were some automatic Windows updates that installed the night before I recognized the issues. But, I usually have to click to install them after a message.

All I know is I went to use the internet and everything was mostly bold or italicized. On some websites the italicized may even have a gray hue to it instead of black. I've tried a few things I have found on here, microsoft and hp's websites as well as other forums on the net. Nothing has worked.
