I am still unable to get my ad block working and am still getting pop ups. Might someone help>?
I have downloaded the adblocker but am still getting pop ups which are driving me crazy. I hope I chose the correct one, if not which one should I install?

hello, please consult the documentation/support section on the adblockplus-page: http://adblockplus.org/en/getting_started
Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.

cor-el, Thank you for being kind enough to respond with your suggestions. I have Malwarebytes Antimalware and Avast as my security systems. MBAM and Avast are showing nothing as far as malware or viruses. I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 a couple weeks ago and having to reset and re-enter many things. I think I regret my decision. I'll contact my security programs and ask them what the heck is going on. Again, thanks, Leeflea.
madperson, I thank you for responding as I thank cor-el. As I wrote cor-el, I have Malwarebytes Antimalware and Avast as my security programs and neither is showing anything in the form of viruses/malware. I did upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 and I think I regret it. I'm a R.N. and can take care of the sickest of the sick but I'm a fool with computers. I'll contact my security providers and check with them to see if they know what's going on. Again thank you so much, Leeflea
P.S. to Co-el and madperson, I think I'll pull out my hair today and scream as I have to learn how to use Picasa since Kodak Easy share is switching to Shutterfly and it is too complicated for me. LOL. Leeflea.
ok, thanks for the reply. i was just wondering initially if adblock was setup correctly because otherwise it won't have an effect, therefore i wanted to point you to the "getting started page" which explains how to apply a filter list for example.
in case the popups were generated locally on you pc by some sort of malware, the adblock addon probably cannot do very much - hopefully you can sort that out with the providers of your security software...
Hey madperson( Love the name as I'm truly going to be so myself by the end of the day ), Would you recommend I un-install and reinstall? Too, I don't understand Filters. Thanks. You are most kind. Leeflea.
reinstalling probably won't help, since the settings will stay - you can also try resetting firefox. that will reset everything to the default (but your bookmarks & passwords will be kept), maybe this does already tackle the problem with pop-ups.
Thank you. I'll try it just as soon as I wake some more as I was up 'til 1:30am which is late for me. Plus I need my xanax. LOL. Lee
