I get repeated and unwanted notices to update my plugins, and yet I regularly update anything that appears on my automatic software update notices.

It's really getting annoying. I admittedly have an older computer, but it all works fine for my purposes. I used to get periodic requests from my automatic settings, or from microsoft or firefox or whomever, to update this or that. I'd click and download the upgrade, and life went on. Now I get repeated and unwanted reminders to upgrade my flash player or my firefox system, and I don't need to or want to, in my opinion. And I would like the notices to stop already.

hello, according to your system information you're using a mac still based on the old ppc-architecture. unfortunately this neither supported by apple, mozilla firefox & flash any longer, so even if you wanted to update, it is no longer possible. you can switch off the firefox update reminders in preferences > advanced > update. i don't know in which context the plugin update notifications are appearing, so i cannot give any guidance on that...

if you want to keep using an up-to-date webbrowser you could also switch to the "tenfourfox", a 3rd party project that is based on firefox:

Firefox no longer works with Mac OS X 10.4 or PowerPC processors

You can Disable Firefox Update Notifications as mentioned in this article -> How do I configure update options?

The rest is already explained by madperson.
