Firefox does not respond, takes forever to load page, or times out. I have to use another browser all the time. Cannot use Firefox.

For about a month now I have not been able to use Firefox. It won't open my homepage or other bookmarked pages I have. It gives me a "not responding" message and takes forever to load a page when it is responding, or it times out and says it took too long to load page. I have had to use another browser, so I know it's not the webpages themselves.
