Yes, Firefox will crate new files if you remove all cookies.sqlite files in the profile folder.
You can keep a backup copy of the main cookies.sqlite file if you want to restore the cookies in case that it doesn't help.

Which link do you click on that page to get that issue?
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
Starting in Safe Mode did not remedy the looping problem. Maybe there is a compatibility issue as this problem is not experienced when using Internet Explorer.
You haven't explained what you are doing to get that redirect.
So can you post all steps to get that issue for you?
This looping problem is now occurring at other sites. Also, problems emailing articles from NY Times. Keep getting request to log in even though I previously logged in.
I don't experience similar problems when I use IE browser. I might be forced to switchback since Firefox doesn't offer an easy solution.
It is possible that the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete cookies.sqlite-journal and cookies.txt, if they exist, in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.
When I click on Go to book a room it sends me to a search for hotel page which returns me to Fairfax Hampton page again to complete the loop.
This problem doesn't occur using IE browser. Should I delete cache, cookies etc. to remedy problem.
You can give it a try and clear the cache and the cookies from that site.
If I delete/rename these cookie-related files does firefox self-generate new ones??

Where are the cookies.sqlite files located as I was unable to find folder named Profile??
You can use this button on the Troubleshooting Information page to go to the profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
