Whenever I download the new firefox, it goes back to the old firefox version, could you helo me?

I click into the firefox browser, and I find the new firefox 4 download. I downloaded it, but whenever I go into my firefox browser, the old firefox version that I had before, comes up and not the new firefox 4 version. Could you please help me?
