So I don't know what it is but FF hangs on startup. I mean the window loads but if I type something it isn't reflected. I also checked the task manager and clearly FF was hogging lot of RAM on startup (nearly 2 GB) and the fan speed was also increased drastically. I waited for some time so that what I typed was reflected on FF, clearly the RAM usage went down after 2-3 mins and the fan speed also decreased.

Another thing I noticed is that when the FF is the current window, Alt+tab doesn't work on Windows OS (the windows don't switch). I tried with another applications as the current window and Alt+Tab was working. I don't know why.

I saw this changes after upgrading FF to the latest version (88.0.1 (64-bit)). I think these are the bugs in the latest version.

Someone please rectify and patch the bugs. Thank you.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Some problems occur when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;

  • Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
  • Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see
