How do I contact Mozilla Firefox to ask if I'm able to access to my Firefox profile on their cloud server?

Windows 10 would not update so I contacted Microsoft Support and a technician spent two days trying to various methods to get the updates installed on my computer. After several failed attempts it was determined a Windows "reset" was needed. The reset stated it would uninstall apps but save user data. However, it appears the reset uninstalled and wiped my profile off the computer.

I've already asked a previous question using the Mozilla Firefox support section and verified the profile is in fact gone. No backups are available to rollback using Firefox and the backup profiles in the "Windows.old" and "Windows.old(1)" both contain saved profiles from after the reset.

It sounds like my last option is contacting Mozilla directly to verify my account information and see if they can access my profile on their cloud server?

So how does someone do that? Thanks

I'm retired and only use my one desktop computer so I never considered Firefox Sync because it was my understanding it was solely to Sync Firefox accounts between multiple computers and possibly a phone?

Also, it never occurred to me that Firefox bookmarks, links and passwords were only stored on my computer. I thought of it more like Facebook or Netflix? If I login to Facebook all my friends, posts and messages are saved no matter what computer or phone I use and Netflix tracks all the movies I've already watched and all the movies I want watch stored no matter what computer or phone I'm logged in on. In hindsight, it does make sense because if it truly worked like Facebook or Netflix then there wouldn't be the need for Sync?

My original thread was under bookmarks because I was originally trying to get my bookmarks, links, folders and passwords back. I think I mainly worked with you on attempting to recover any backup that may have been left in Windows? After unsuccessfully finding any backups I tried to transition to finding out if Firefox possibly had a backup saved on their Cloud server but I got a redundant reply diverting back to finding Firefox profiles backups on my computer with same advice I had already received in a prior comment so it just seemed easier to leave the Bookmarks section for three reasons. 1. I was getting redundant suggestions about recovering my profile that had already been given and tried in a previous post. 2. It was no longer a bookmark question and transitioned to "Recovering profile from Firefox Cloud server". A question I felt no longer applied to Bookmarks so if I wanted help it seemed the best way was start a new post with the new topic concerning the Cloud server. 3. It cleared up the confusion of original post by removing everything we had already attempted with profile backups and started with fresh focus only on seeing if a profile could be found on Cloud server.

I hope that all makes sense and explains it from the perspective of someone using the Support section? I really appreciate everyone's help. You are all so knowledgeable.

Hopefully Firefox reads these support posts and incorporates some way to auto save users profiles? As a Firefox user it never occurred to me that this needed to be done. Even when Windows Reset stated "Programs and apps will be removed" it didn't concern me because it Windows also stated all user files will be retained. I did take an extra precaution and I copied all of my photos and documents to an external hard drive but once again it never occurred to me to save Firefox data?

In the end, everything I saved on the external hard drive were in fact saved by Windows during the reset so I basically backed up everything that didn't end up needing to backup and didn't backup what I actually needed.

Microsoft all scammed me on Microsoft Office. My MS Office 2010 worked prior to reset on Windows Build 1803 but when I finally got updates to install correctly Windows Build 1909 wouldn't allow me to reinstall MS Office 2010 stating it was no longer supported. So $150 + tax later I now have MS Office 2019.

Thanks again Top 10 Contributors and any else that attempted to help me. I will mark my posts "Solved" and give you all thumb ups on your comments. 8)

Are you talking about sync? Or some other cloud service?

Look for a folder called Windows.old in the C: directory and your user folder.

I'm not sure what Sync is? I only used Firefox on my desktop so unless Sync is something done automatically or "sync's" with some kind of Firefox cloud server then it may not apply to me as I have never "sync'd" anything on my own.

I spent all day yesterday with a Top 10 Contributor and my computer does not have any backups saved after the Windows tech reset my version of Windows in order to get Windows updates to complete properly. We even tried the Windows.old and Windows.old(1) folders as stated in my previous message.

After talking to him he stated I would need to contact Firefox to discuss getting my profile off their cloud server and to make sure I didn't reset my Firefox password because that would delete my profile on the Firefox server.

Sync is a way of sharing data between other Firefox profiles and systems.

Starting in the Windows.old folder, try to find this folder:

\Users\==username==\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\==profile==

Yes, I originally started with a post in the "Browser" section and was helped by another Top 10 Contributor. We located the folder in the Window.old file but it was also a backup dated 10/20/2020 and it was determined that it was also created after the Windows reset.

The "Browser" support forum was a tremendous help and we researched every option they could think of with no success. So I decided to post this question in the "Other" section to inquire about how to actually contact someone from Mozilla Firefox because the other Top 10 Contributor stated they should have a saved copy of my profile on their cloud server.

Do you happen to know how I would contact someone from Firefox that could assist me with possibly retrieving my profile off their cloud server? I've clicked on every link I can find on this support.mozilla.org website and everything seems to lead to articles, FAQ's or this community support section. I can't seem to locate a phone number or emails to an actual support center.

Mozilla has no such support. This is the official support site. I called for more help.

How would someone go about requesting access to a profile saved on the Firefox cloud? Another Top 10 Contributor mentioned a saved profile is kept on the Firefox Cloud and instructed me not to change my Firefox password or it would dump the saved backup profile?

You do not need to start a new thread: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1309593

Firefox does not back up your profile folder to the cloud. You can choose to Sync selected data from your Firefox to your Firefox Account and when you log into that same Firefox Account on another installation of Firefox, Firefox should synchronize the data between the two installations.

As you can see, the only way saved logins or bookmarks from your Firefox would have been copied to storage associated with your Firefox Account would be if you had set up Firefox Sync before you reset your system.

Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles {web link} I use an add-on that makes backups of my user profile, Just In Case. Unfortunately, it is not compatible with the current Firefox.

Every now and then, open the profile folder and create a copy of the current profile as is to another location on your hard drive. This way you will have a backup.

If you do this each day, you will not lose much data. This should be done with Firefox Closed.

Note: In case you need to restore from these backups, you may need to overwrite old or corrupted files.
