Uninstall question

Hi! This may sound silly, but I don't know if the programs need each other to operate correctly, like a build-on situation.

I was uninstalling programs today and see that I have, Mozilla Firefox 71, Mozilla Firefox 78.0.2, and Mozilla Firefox 80.0.1.

I'm good to uninstall the 71 and 78 right? Not sure why Mozilla didn't do it automatically when it updated; which adds to my hesitation to do it without asking.

Thanks!

Hi Jake, could you check for dual installs? You won't need both, but knowing what is installed where is a good first step:

  • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox -- 64-bit program folder
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox -- legacy 32-bit program folder

To determine the version installed in each folder, if you have both, you can right-click firefox.exe, click Properties, and then look at the Details tab ("Product version").

If there's only one install on disk, it's possible the installer left some debris in the part of the Windows registry used to track installed programs.
