Unwanted new behaviors in Bookmarks and Tools and especially in "new windows"
I don't know if this is related to Firefox version 78.0.2 (64-bit) which automatically downloaded itself and installed after a Windows10 reboot about a week or two ago, but during that same time period I have had intolerable problems with new windows as well as unwelcome new behaviors with "not-new" windows passed from the previous version to the current version. All of the issues (at least those I've discovered so far) are noted on the attached image, so there's little point in repeating them here. The greatest problems are with new windows: issues A and B make new windows almost useless (without a lot of extra effort to work around the issues), and the fact that I can no longer add more tabs to a new window is simply intolerable. (If I attempt adding a tab, it somehow "locks" the window, and it cannot be exited or deleted without taking down Firefox.) The second problem is that at least some menu items in the "original" window(s) from the previous version no longer work correctly, if at all. The latter "if at all" (Tools|Page Info) is something I heavily depend upon because other browsers don't have such a tool. (I have not tried all of the other Tools to see if they misbehave, too.) To me, it's all part of what makes "full-featured Firefox" better than "crippled Chrome" (which touts speed but deliberately, for the sake of that speed, has restricted its features compared to Firefox). Unfortunately, there is no option in the "Help" dropdown to try reloading and reinstalling the current version (to see if that will fix the problems), so I'm stuck.

I was unable to follow your directions to reinstall Firefox, because attempting to follow your directions with my downloading issue (in my other message) completely FROZE Firefox. I couldn't do anything, so I decided to reboot my PC. I didn't know what to expect because I had already previously rebooted a couple of days before, but that reboot did NOT solve the problems. However, this time the reboot apparently cleared up all of the problems. (I checked out everything that I had mentioned--so far, so good!) I hope it stays that way!
So, the problems are solved, though not due to your reply above. I still wonder what caused the problems in the first place. (I hope they don't return!) But thank you VERY much for your help! (See below for a question about following your directions above.)

Question regarding your directions about REINSTALLING Firefox: I'm 74, and my memory seems to be failing little by little. Therefore I use both tabs and minimized windows (many of which have tabs) as a temporary memory aid until I can take care of them (and save many of them or their contents) when I have opportunity. The automatic loading and installing of new versions of Firefox never seems to bother these at all (well, hardly at all--I have experienced one or two past "disasters" of losing them). Does reinstalling Firefox according to your directions above lose them, or are they placed into a "safe" location for calling back up when the installation is complete? I cannot permit my doing anything that would destroy these temporary "memories" because, based on past "disasters" (as I mentioned), I cannot recreate these hard-earned research collections of temporary windows relating to various topics. (It would be analagous to having a stroke and losing part of one's memory.)

If you want to reinstall Firefox, follow the instructions below. If you just want to remove it, disregard the install instructions.
Let’s do a full clean re-install;
Note: Firefox comes in three or more folders on all computers. They are;
Maintenance: (Programs Folder) <Windows Only> Firefox itself: (Programs Folder) And two folders in the profile of each user on the computer for each Firefox profile for that user.
If you remove the Firefox folder, the user profiles would not be affected.
Download Firefox For All languages And Systems {web link}
Save the file. Then Close Firefox.
Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.
Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86) Note: Check Both Folders
Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-download-and-install-firefox-mac
Linux: Check your user manual. If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it. See Install Firefox on Linux; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-firefox-linux
If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder Firefox in your home directory. http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Look for, and remove any Mozilla or Firefox program folders. Do not remove the Mozilla Thunderbird folder if there is one.
Do Not remove any profile folders.

Sometimes it takes several reboots to 'clear' a problem.
