I tried to download some item I bought off Humbundle, I could only download 1 file, and nothing else. The page has a Bulk downloader, in this case, select the PDF box and download all the files that are PDF on the page, lets say 20 without counting.

1 will download, I click the individual links and nothing. Refreshing the page, I can download 1, and no more.

All the files were torrent links, though I doubt it matters Personally I don't see how a third party download tool would help, even the linked responses and original question were not related.

Using firefox 70 on Linux Mint

On a unrelated note, I do hope that this is not a forum where you must logon and check it daily, after creating this, I found an older submission I had forgotten about with several responses, I wish I had gotten an email letting me know I had a response.

This is the response I got from Humblebundle, this is included because I know the first response will be it is not firefox it must be the site.

Hi there,

Thanks for writing in! I'm sorry to hear about the trouble.

I believe this is an issue of your browser blocking multiple download from the same site. I have attempted the bulk downloader myself on Chrome and had success with the bundle you mentioned, so that is the only factor I believe may be holding you back. There is an article regarding this issue for the Firefox browser here:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1163075

Installing that add-on may help you correctly download the products in question.

If you continue having trouble, let me know and I can discuss this issue with my team further. We may not be able to provide an immediate solution, but we can hopefully address this issue in future updates to this feature.

Kind regards,

-Finn Humble Bundle http://support.humblebundle.com/

As a Humble Bundle user myself, I can confirm that the bulk downloads should be working just fine.

Try going into the Firefox options and find the Applications section. See if the file type that you are trying to download appears on that list. If it does, try setting it to Save File instead of Always Ask or vice versa.

If you have it set to Always Ask you will get a download confirmation window for each item that you are trying to download, so maybe those are opening behind the main Firefox window for some reason.

Hope this helps.

Did you try to hold the Ctrl key to select multiple items ?

The correct app is selected to open the seed file, which is Transmission. They are not opening behind the main window, they are not at all. No download when clicked, unless I refresh the page. Then I can download one more in my list.

I tried changing it to always ask and still the same issue.

Downloads don't work that way, That works for selecting multiple files within the OS.

To clarify for cor-el and others who may want to help, Humble Bundle provides a bulk download feature on their website. Clicking the button essentially loops through each item on the list and starts downloading one item per second.

As for the issue itself, does this only happen when you have their BitTorrent option available or does it also happen when you are selecting Direct Link?

I don't think it would make a difference, but I'm just wondering if maybe setting the torrent links to open with a program is breaking the ability to download multiple files.

Also, does the Save File option work? When you open a file using a program, Firefox saves it to the temporary storage on your computer instead of the regular download folder, so this could be causing some issue.

The only other thing I can think of at the moment is that maybe Firefox's download limit has been set really low for some reason. Generally, this should cause Firefox to reject or fail to download additional items, but it's worth a try.

See if increasing the network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server preference (the default is 6) using the Configuration Editor for Firefox (about:config) helps.

Just tried the suggestions: No, I can download a individual file, not using a torrent, and still unable to download additional files, until a refresh. Even when the file is done downloading, I am unable to download anything else until refresh.

Save File makes no difference

settings under the search "network.http.max" All show default.

Could this be a weird bug that shows only on certain OS? Nobody that answered has mentioned they were a Linux user, so it is possible this happens in Linux and not Windows, right?

It could indeed be a Linux-specific bug.
