Please change about:config toolkit.winRegisterApplicationRestart default from true to false.
Auto starting your application on every system reboot is presumptuous. I don't want every application I have installed on my computer to automatically start when I boot my machine. That would likely be impossible due to memory constraints. Why do you believe Firefox should be auto started? What if every application enabled this feature (which is possible) by default. It would be chaos.
Please, simply create checkbox in the easily accessible Options menu allowing users to choose to automatically start Firefox on Windows startup. Don't enable this by default and hide the setting in the hidden about:config toolkit.winRegisterApplicationRestart settings.

This would normally only happen if you do not close Firefox before closing down Windows.
So Why don't you close Firefox properly before you close Windows?
No, this option triggers Firefox to automatically start at system startup even when the app was "properly" closed before the last shutdown.
Did you even read my request? I know how to disable the feature. I'm suggesting this default behavior be changed and/or moved to a normal Options menu checkbox.

What is the value of "toolkit.winRegisterApplicationRestart" ? Does that value get changed?
So this is merely about that you need to go to about:config to change the pref and that you would prefer to have this option available in the user interface (Options/Preferences) or that this feature is enabled by default?
