bookmarks wont import
I got a new computer. When i went to firefox to import my favorites it wouldnt accept my password and said it was too short. I was forced to make a new password. First of all i have reinstalled windows many times and never was i asked that i can recall for a password to obtain my favorites. I would have saved this information had i known. I used my email and password for my email which is when it told me i had to make a new one since i had no idea what password was previously used. I have stopped using firefox for this reason. I just want to know if i can get back my favorites list. If not i will no longer use firefox

Adding other devices to your sync is an option.

Resetting the sync password, or changing its e-mail, will remove all data from the servers.

Do you still have your old system?
Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.
Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder.
Windows: Show Folder; Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder
Linux: Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Directory. To its right press the button Open Directory.
Now Close Firefox. This is your current profile. Copy the folder As Is to a folder on a thumb drive. Then Copy the folder to the new system.
I do not still have my old system. I reinstalled windows, downloaded firefox and tried to sync to get my bookmarks and favorites but cant get them. I also have an issue with it insisting I add 2 devices. My phone does not have enough room to install another app so I installed the app on my tablet which apparently isnt considered a device. I never had this problem before. Ive always in the past been able to sync and get my favorites and bookmarks on my computer and my husbands

Well they just lost a customer, ive reinstalled multiple times and never had to have a password or I would have saved that password.
Note that Sync isn't meant as a backup, so it its not guaranteed anyway that you could have recovered this data.
Don't you have access to the old computer? Then you can use a removable USB jump drive to transfer your data.
You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
