I downloade Firefox update yesterday, now can't open email attachment, sent to Mimecast which didn't accept my email. What to do?

Got a message yesterday that Firefox was running very slow (true) so I said yes to update it. Today I can't open an attachment from an email (from a trusted source), instead it sent me to Mimecast and asked for my email, but did not accept it when I typed it in. What's going on?
