How do I get Firefox to remember my auto-fill passwords in private browsing without first having to enter them in a non-private tab on android?

I updated my android Firefox version to 67.0 and now private browsing tabs won't auto-fill my passwords on websites. I checked my settings to make sure I have sync set to remember my passwords and about:config tells me auto-fill is set to "true". How can I get private tabs to auto-fill my passwords or even give me a drop down without first having to enter them into a regular tab? It defeats the point of private browsing.
