Bookmarks- Can missing saved folders/sunfolders be retrieved?

Previously saved (important) folders and sub-folders in Bookmarks have recently disappeared. They were saved under "Other Bookmarks" but no longer there. Instead, "Other Bookmarks" now saves recent online searches, which I do not want saved.

I have not been able to locate the missing folders. Please help. Thanks.
