How to disable addon verification?

more options

i know everyone is waiting just to get his addons back but the only thing i'm interested in is: How can i disable this stupid addon verification??? I'm old enough to know what addons i install and don't need and especially want a permanent supervisor that drives me in such a situation to have all the scripts and more enabled that i don't want! If i want a browser who knows better what is good for me than me i'll take chrome. So how can i disable this verification?????

i'd like to know how to disable the addon verification in firefox 66.0.3. The simple solution that works in 60.6.1.esr (signatures.required=false) doesn't work there so what else is necessary?

Regular releases do not have a feature to allow unverified extensions. Only ESR, Developer, and Nightly.

solved it:

xpinstall.signatures.required - set it to false and everything works great

Mozilla has rolled-out a fix for this. The fix will be automatically applied in the background within the next few hours, you don’t need to take active steps.

In order to be able to provide this fix on short notice, they are using the Studies system. You can check if you have studies enabled

  1. Go to [=] > Options > Privacy & Security.
  2. Make sure Allow Firefox to install and run studies is check marked.

I you had it disabled, you can disable studies again after your add-ons have been re-enabled.

They are working on a general fix that doesn't need to rely on this and will keep you updated.

thanks for the reply, but what does it mean when a moderator isn't able to answer a question and instead ignores it and just posts spam?

i'd like to disable all addon verification and the steps i posted above with xpinstall.signatures.required works for 60.6.1esr but it doesn't work for 66.0.3. Therefore i'm still interested in disabling the addon verification. So how can i disable it???

it isn't solved yet. i'm just glad that i have another system with an older ff version otherwise i'd be forced to install chrome right now cause No-script-Add-on works there...

xpinstall.signatures.required set to false does nothing to fix the issue. Addons are still broken.

xpinstall.signatures.required set to false works for 60.6.1esr

but it doesn't work for ff66.0.3. There is more necessary and the question what that would be still remains.

Hi nextStopChrome, 66.0.4 and 60.6.2esr have been released with the new certificate needed for verification.

Hi ttles714, currently there's no update for Firefox 56. There was a note on Twitter that Mozilla may release something for unsupported versions, but for the time being, you would need to install the new certificate for verifying extension signatures a different way, such as installing manually. For an unsupported approach, see: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1258165#answer-1218833

Thanks for the update. But could someone please answer the question? i'm not interested in hot fixes and workarounds, i'd like to know how to disable the addon verification in firefox 66.0.3. The simple solution that works in 60.6.1.esr (signatures.required=false) doesn't work there so what else is necessary?
