Can not add or send/receive existing "live.com" mail account. It use to work
My "live.com" account got hacked. Microsoft restored it. However, a few days after restoration the ability to send/receive mail suddenly stopped, it was it working before.
I can send/receive via a web browser, Gmail, Outlook but NOT Thunderbird. I can send/receive all other email accounts in Thunderbird (i.e., @gmail.com, @yahoo.com, @gmx.com, etc.) but not the "live.com" account any longer. I keep getting the following messages when trying to add it to a new Thunderbird installation:
Username or password invalid Configuration could bit be verified-is the username or password wrong?
The username and password are correct. I've even changed my password a number of times hoping that would help.
ADDITIONAL MESSAGES: On another installation, (where it use to work and I still have all of my folders), I get the following messages:
Sending of password for user myaddr@live.com did not succeed. Mail server pop3.live.com responded: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.
Login to server pop3.live.com with username myaddr@live.com failed. The username and password are correct.
I've spent weeks, actually, working with Microsoft trying to get it to work, to no avail. Again, I can send/receive through other mail clients, but I like my Thunderbird. Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance. C.
