I just upgraded to Firefox 63.0.3. Now when I open pop-up windows, they appear, but the content is confined to the top left 1/4 of the new window, and cannot be resized to fill the window. If I try to resize the content, it only enlarges within the 1/4 of the window.

I tried:

1. Open in safemode, with all extensions disabled. No change 2. Delete xulstore.json - worked ONLY ONCE. After that, no change. 3. Changed about:profile dom.disable_window_open_feature.resizable -> " from "false" to true" - no change. 4. Downloaded and installed firefox again - no change.

I am not sure what else to do.

firefox doesn't use popup windows so where are you seeing these popup coming from?

This is incorrect.

Some certain websites (like the one I am using) require pop-up windows, as shown here. You can allow websites to create these pop-up windows in Firefox >Preferences>Privacy & Security > Block pop-up windows and "Exceptions".

This just a guess, because I can't think of any good reason for only 1/4 of a window to be used.

Oh wait, you said you tried this and it only worked once. Hmm...

Sometimes the settings file that stores window dimensions becomes corrupted with nonsensical values. You can rename the file and have Firefox rebuild it. Here's how:

Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using either

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table on the page, on the Profile Folder row, click the "Show in Finder" button. If Finder highlights an icon with a semi-random name like a1b2c3d4.default, double-click it to display the contents of that profile folder.

Leaving that window open, switch back to Firefox and Quit, either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > Quit
  • (menu bar) Firefox > Quit

Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup, then rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename that one to localstore.old.

Start Firefox back up again. Do windows display normally again?

That mini-reset will hide the bookmarks toolbar. You can use one of these methods to show the toolbar list and select the desired bars there:

To turn on the Bookmarks Toolbar, click it on the list.

jscher2000 - yes, I've tried this a few times... but it doesn't work. I'm beginning to wonder if it has something to do with the coding for this one url, since I DON'T have this issue with the url that leads me to the one which is giving me trouble.

This is really bothering me.

If it's only one site, perhaps there is something unusual about the page design. Does it seem to be the intended shape and size, i.e., no scroll bars necessary, no content missing?

The thing is, this page worked until the Firefox upgrade (63.0.3), and now... it doesn't.

Can you get support from the site or provide a link to demonstrate the problem?

Unfortunately it's behind a password access wall, so I'm not able to provide a url.

I've got a related problem, wherein the graphics-and-text, on a Retina_MacBook_Pro's primary-screen popup-"download-decision"-window, is way too small, UNTIL, I move it logically-right, onto my secondary-screen, wherein it appears normally, and I can move it, logically-left, back onto the primary-screen, and it STILL is normal .

I've got Firefox v64.0.2 , on mid-2015_15-inch_Retina-MacBook-Pro, running High_Sierra v10.13.6+Sec._Upd._2019-001 .
