Firefox update stuck in a loop
The latest update won't take. Every time I start Firefox it runs the update again. If I go to Help>About Firefox it say "Restart to update Firefox" every time. How do I fix this. It's annoying, especially since I get a security warning every time I start Firefox because of the update.
The information below says version 63.0, but Help>About says 63.0.1.
I just installed that new version over top of the old and the problem went away. I think it's a problem with version 63.0.1. Had the same problem on my other computer.Leggere questa risposta nel contesto 👍 0

Let’s do a full clean re-install;
Save the file. Then Close Firefox.
Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.
Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86)
Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-download-and-install-firefox-mac

Will all my settings (logins, etc.) be erased? Is there a way to export them?
Firefox comes in two or more folders on all computers. They are;
Maintenance: (Programs Folder) <Windows Only> Firefox itself: (Programs Folder) And two folders in the profile of each user on the computer for each Firefox profile for that user.
If you remove the Firefox folder, the user profiles would not be affected.
Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles. I use an add-on that makes backups of my user profile, Just In Case. Unfortunately, it is not compatible with the current Firefox.
Every now and then, open the profile folder and create a copy of the current profile as is to another location on your hard drive. This way you will have a backup.
If you do this each day, you will not lose much data. This should be done with Firefox Closed.
Note: In case you need to restore from these backups, you may need to overwrite old or corrupted files.
