I visit sites like Facebook through Mozilla. Sometimes it asks me if I want to give them access to my location. Sometimes I do, but how do i keep control over when they know my location?

Usually you can check what permissions you've granted to the currently displayed site by tapping the lock icon next to the address, and if you want to revoke a permission, there should be a link to do that there.
Location on mobile will be very precise, so unless you see a benefit to the site knowing your exact position on the planet any time to use the site, I would revoke the permission.
