Suddenly i couldnt send or receive mails anymore. All my Mailaccounts from different Providers are affected. I deleted the accounts i tried to create them again but everytime i try i get the message: The configuration could not be verified Maybe password or username wrong

But the username and password are right actually.

Further when i take a look into the console i see the following: IMKInputSession [0x129915ee0 presentFunctionRowItemTextInputViewWithEndpoint:completionHandler:] : [self textInputContext]=0x125ef2040 *NO* NSRemoteViewController to client, NSError=Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=4097 "connection from pid 0" UserInfo={NSDebugDescription=connection from pid 0}, com.apple.inputmethod.EmojiFunctionRowItem

Thanks in advance!

got a firewall or anti virus product. Both are common causes of your sorts of issues.

I use a macbook pro of the latest generation. The local OS-Firewall is disabled and i cant see any anti virus product.

This doesnt help. I tried to use thunderbird in safemode but while in that mode i cant run thunderbird properly. That means i cant put in the mailaccount even because i only got a blank window and a lot of menu options are missing.

Further i have no additional anti virus or firewalls installed other than the default mac ones.

Has anyone an experience with that? Maybe it was caused by a mac softwareupdate or thunderbird update, because i havent changed anything else or at least i am not aware of.

re :The local OS-Firewall is disabled Advise you have a Firewall running. then access Firewall and make sure Thunderbird is an allowed program.

Check Thunderbird is in 'online' mode. Do you see a 'two blue screen icon' in bottom far left corner of Status bar? If yes, then Thunderbird is using 'online' mode. If you see a 'two black screen icon' in bottom far left corner of Status bar then Thunderbird is in 'offline' mode. click on the 'two black screen icon' to return to 'online' mode.

Did this occur after Mac was woken from sleep mode?

Did this occur immediately after Mac had a software update or does Mac need a software update?

What version of Thunderbird are you using? You can get info here: Help > About Thunderbird or here: Help > Troubleshooting Information

I have no firewall running and the standard macfirewall is deactivated.

Further thunderbird is definitly in online mode, since there is not the symbol you wrote about.

This is already for a while and i reinstalled thunderbird and i am currently using the following version -> 60.0

I don´t really know if that happened after an update but at the moment the mac doesn´t requires any new update.

Thanks for your help already. I appreciate that very much!

re :I have no firewall running and the standard macfirewall is deactivated.

I recommend you have a Firewall running. Exit Thunderbird. Activate the mac firewall and get Thunderbird setup as an allowed program because it is safer.

RE:The configuration could not be verified Maybe password or username wrong

username is usually the full email address, but there are a few occassions when it is otherwise. eg: gmail is full email address

Error message can mean any or combination of the following: Password is wrong and Username is wrong Password is correct but Username is wrong Password is wrong but Username is correct

You will know the above is correct if you can logon to the respective webmail accounts using a browser.

Password is correct and Username is correct BUT they are not correct for the server settings you are trying to use.

Have you inadvertantly selected IMAP but are using pop server settings? OR vice versa ?

What are the servers you are trying to connect to? Suggest you try to one up and running first... What is after the '@' in your email address? Are you using IMAP or POP? What server name ? What port ? What connection security option? What Authentication Method ?

I cant activate a firewall. It seems like theres something corporate managed, that i am not able to. It is grey.

The logindata are fully correct because i can loginto the website of the different mailprovider with it.

I use IMAP as ever. I never used POP.

It is GMX on one hand and Gmail on the other. imap.gmx.net, STARTTLS smtp.gmx.net, STARTTLS Port: 465 SSL/TLS Password, normal
